Simple; Nothing Fancy

We were on the third floor. It's my understanding that this floor was just renovated. It was a nice room but kind of crowded. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can't complain about the free morning breakfast -- it did the trick for a family of 5. Didn't use the pool or gym.

Talk to the locals. They have some really good, inexpensive ideas for family activities.

Great Room, Hot Breakfast, Awesome Staff

I was in Augusta on business and have stayed in town before and am familiar with the other hotels in the area. I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites in one of their standard rooms with a king bed. It was immaculately clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I am picky with cleanliness and I have not slept in a hotel with such peace of mind in a long time. The housekeeping staff really keeps a sharp eye. They serve a hot buffet breakfast in the morning that was awesome - with scrambled eggs, bacon, make-your-own waffles and hard boiled eggs too! The hotel staff was really nice, friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was on the first floor and had an exterior entry which was fine, but I took a look at their "executive level" third floor which is brand new and has all interior corridor rooms and they are REALLY nice. Next time I stay (and I WILL be back) I will go for the upgrade to the third floor - it looks worth it for sure. I've stayed at the other hotels in Augusta that are worth the try, and the Quality Inn & Suites Evergreen is definitely the nicest all around in terms of the people, the rooms and the value.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Nearby Hallowell is a historic town on the Kennebec River - very quaint and only 5 minutes from the hotel. I ate at a place called Slates which was local, unique and served delicious food!

Old and New

The adds would have you believe that the hotel is new or renovated in 2007 but only the third floor has been updated this century. Even the third floor has a long way to go before it would be comparable to a modern hotel. (rooms are small, internet extreamly slow, I had ticks in my bed) Priced way to high for what is, this is a 0 star downstairs and 1 star upstairs hotel but they charge like it should have two or three.
