Hotel Overview
Cheap and convenient
The only food at the hotel was a Subway franchise. The people were very cordial.

Not to good in Silver Spring...
I chose the Silver Spring Days Inn on the basis of its cost and location, but next time I'll spend a bit more money. The location is good, and the two desk staff I dealt with were both courteous and helpful, but that's about the extent of the good news. The room, which looked out on construction dumpsters, was cramped, and the furniture is past due for replacement. The promised coffee maker was not in the room; when requested, one was provided but the coffee was weak (using two bags in the basket yielded stringer coffee that was still bad). The wi-fi was erratic and slow. The outside walkways were dirty, with trash spilling from the bins. Not to disparage poor people, but this place had the feel of Section 8 housing. I've encountered bigger disasters, but I wouldn't stay here again unless I had no other choices.

A basic clean and quiet hotel
We were delivering a 26 foot truck full of furniture and belongings for a customer, a Doctor, who had just moved to Washington DC. We're a professional moving company named Lighthouse Moving.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Metro was nearby. It beats driving to the ballgame and the US Open.

Uncomfortable stay
The people at the front desk were great, but we were checked into a room that was dirty, stuff on top of the bed spread and just generally not a clean room. We were moved to another room, which was fairly clean, but was in need of many repairs and sprucing up. We won't be staying there again.

Terrible choice
Non-smoking room had a sign that said "No Smoking", but smelled like a smoking convention took place there. Had to have all my clothes dry cleaned after going home. Walls as thin as paper and you feel like the people next door are sleeping in your room. The bath room was in terrible shape... the toilette seat was cheap and thin and when you sat down you would slide into the water...ugh! The tub had cracks and the soap holder was peeling off the wall. The heater in the room was broken and the room cold. If you are there to visit DC, it is not convenient... they say the metro is close, but it really is over a half mile away. Restaurants are not close either. Although the staff at the desk were friendly, all in all this is an awful place. Pay a little more go somewhere else. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Below expectation
The room smelled bad, and carpet was dirty. There's a leaking from the room upstairs. My first time in DC area. All other hotel rates are above my company budget, but this was a pretty bad experience. I will book more expensive hotel for my personal travel, next time in DC area. Now I realize DC is an expensive place to visit.
