HoJo on the Boardwalk
The hotel screams on it's sign "newly renovated rooms" - not sure when my room was newly renovated?? - it looked very worn -- (as do many of the hotels in Ocean City). The room looked out over the alley between the hotel and a restaurant next door - you had to step out onto the balcony and crane to the left to see the ocean. The room at odd hours smelled like food -- I assume from the ventilation system pulling in the smell from next door. The room was clean except for the run in I had with the roach the morning I was leaving -- the hotel clerk seemed to be horrified about the roach but didn't go out of her way to be overly apologetic or offer any discount, etc. For the price I guess you take your chances. I would definately be wary of paying full rates for this place during season!!

You got to try it
WE HAD A GREAT TIME THANKS TO THE HOWARD JOHNSON INN OCEANFRONT PLAZA THE BEDS WERE COMFY SO WE HAD GOOD NITE'S SLEEP EVERY NIGHT AND THE STAFF ARE SO FRIENDLY THE ROOMS MAYBE SMALL BUT THEY WERE VERY COZY ON PREVIOUS TRIPS WE DIDNT HAVE THAT MUCH FRIENDLY STAFF OR THAT COZY OF A BED . I RECCOMEND THIS TO EVERYONE THE LOCATION IS THE BEST . THE ONE DOWN SIDE IS DON'T GO OFF SEASON YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS TO GET FOOD AS MOST OF THE RESTURAUNTS ARE CLOSED

Good overall
Rooms were nice, nothing fantastic but overall clean, quite and comfortable. The restaurant however was unprofessional and the food was average. I spent (4) days at the Hojo and most of the time the restaurant did not open according to the posted schedule. If you want a descent room and are prepared to eat out then this would be worth the stay.

Great location at the beach!
This wasn't our first time at this hotel, and we've never had any big problems with any of our stays. It's a great location, right on the boardwalk...within walking distance to everything (arcades, amusement parks, restaurants, and of course the beach). Good size rooms, nice pool with hot tub and a friendly staff made this a great trip!

Right next door is a small place called Pizza Boy that has everything from breakfast specials to a great combo deal of a large pizza with a pitcher of soda for less than twenty dollars. The pizza is excellent and quite large for the price.

Good Getaway
The hotel was clean the room was a little small but it was good. There was no shower when we exited the beach that was right in front of the hotel. This made us enter the hotel very sandy and hot.

Long walk from hotel
seacrest was interesting. We took a bus to get there that was money saving and time saving not having to find parking or worry about drinking.

Excellent Hotel
Arrived late at night but staff was there to meet me--room was nice--upgraded me to oceanfront without being asked
