Flamingo Motel

I NEED A ROOM FOR ONE NIGHT AND THIS PLACE WAS VERY ADEQUATE FOR SITUATION.

The first night of our stay we were awoken in the early AM by a phone call stating our bathroom was flooding the room below us. Turns out our bathroom was flooding from the ceiling. We were then bombarded by matience who didn't fix the problem and got a maid who said she'd be back "in an hour" to clean up the dirt, rubble, and water that was seeping into the bed ro. An hour went by and no one came. We were unable to take showers or use the bathroom and upon our exit we were asked "So, do you want us to fix that?" we weren't offered a different room or anything of the sort. Although the water was wiped up and the room was clean up

When booking a place to stay a friend once told me “beware of anything that has Motel or Inn in the title.” At that time I couldn’t really agree that her motto was true however after staying with this motel in late August with my kids, I totally see the reasoning in her motto. The room looked liked something out of a horror movie, The paint on the walls were pale pink, the carpet was just as dreary and the ceiling had water stains so bad that the kids screamed to be changed to another room. I called the front desk to explain the condition of the room and was told they could move me for one night but I would have to come back to the room the next day. I couldn’t really see the reasoning for that and as I was residing to put up with the hole in the wall I rented for a week, front desk sent maintenance up to survey the room. Once they got a look and smell of the room I was moved to a new room but guess my shock when the new room mirrored the old room. I knew then that this was all the motel had to offer so why complain. I booked this trip as part of my son’s 12th birthday present and I was honestly expecting a nice little room that stood close to the beach at least that’s what the reviews described. I read reviews expecting to get the skinny on a place before I book and for the most part reviews are helpful but I’m finding it truer that places with Inn or Motel have very low quality despite some reviews exclaiming it’s nice for the price. According to the reviews for the Flamingo it’s a nice place for kids, it has an heated indoor pool, and the rooms are suitable for the price however, The design of the place is extremely flawed nothing is connected, the pool is indoor but not heated plus it’s a long walk across a public parking lot to get to it and of course the rooms are disgusting. The one true thing the reviews boast about is the closeness of the beach. If you get the right room you can see the beach and it’s literally a few feet away.

Most reviews state that this motel is on the out-dated side and it is, but, if I'm being completely honest, it's not all that bad. The view from the private balcony was especially nice, the location is ideally situated to the beach, and the room was clean. So, would I stay there again? Perhaps. If you can look past the decor and don't have unreasonable standards for a motel at this cost, then you'll enjoy the Flamingo.

Room was clean, staff very friendly, only concern I had was that we could hear the people on the floor above us walking around.

matinenc was good no working fridge no9 working air condition old carpet suppose mto have coffee pot what they call kitchette nothing like it terrible stayed at grand for 9yrs will go back there instead of here needs to be updated badly

Hotel is worth its price, in a great location in downtown Ocean City....but the hotel is a bit outdated and could use some TLC.

Reviews have to be done with perspective in mind. This is not a "cheap" motel but for Ocean City it's one of the cheapest options where you still get a decent room in a good location. I stayed here 3 times and would stay again when I'm on budget. Rooms need updating, especially bathrooms. Overall considering how much I paid I am satisfied with Flamingo.

Went there with a buddy and it had what we needed. The room was clean. Had no problems with staff, they came by in the AM to bring new towels. The bathroom was from the 1970's but everything worked fine. If your the type of person who plans on spending most the time on the beach, enjoying the outside and want something cheap and easy this is the place. I would DEF stay there again. Very close to the beach and not far of a walk from the boardwalk. Couple food places near by along with little beer store. Cause its a little away from the boardwalk its quieter at night which is nice.

Good value and decent location. I would stay there again.
