Great Weekend Trip
R Oct 12, 2009
We visited OC during an off-season weekend for a wedding. The kids loved the beach, pool and ice skating rink. The rooms ... were good size, so we all had room to move around (even with the pack-n-play for the toddler.) Nice hotel, we would stay again when it warms up next season. It is a bit of a drive to get down to the popular boardwalk area, but there are lots of places to eat/visit locally. Public buses are also available.

Very dissapointed
boss Sep 21, 2009
First of all the room I booked was supposed to have an ocean view all we saw was the roof and other hotel rooms (major ... disappointment!)Things that didn't work: the alarm clock,an electrocal outlet, a lamp and the iron. We had to call the front desk twice and waited an hour for the iron. This made us late for an engagement(big bummer). We had to go back down to the front desk twice to get our cards programmed to open our door. The water pressure in the shower was weak. The sink's water went from hot to cold. no warm or luke warm. On sunday morning we woke up at 10:50 because the alarm clock didn't work, so we informed the front desk and was told if we weren't out the room by 11:30 we would be charged an additional 139.99. We planned along time for this trip and because of the hotel, our getaway was a disaster! Also housekeeping made our bed with potato chips and underwear still on the bed(gross)

Labor Day Stay
Buena Onda Sep 8, 2009
It really depends what part of the hotel you stay at. We got one of the last ones left, so you're sure to get a better room. ... if you're on the 1st to 4th floor there's a chance your room faces/overlooks the inner courtyard where the ice rink is located. In which case its pretty noisy during the day; so as long as you're out and about that isn't really a problem as at night its at least quite. If you get stuck there too, the patio isn't the best (not very private, and is noisy). The service we experienced was very efficient and friendly, and the ammenities were on par. Overall this is a great place to stay, just try to avoid the section mentioned or get a room facing outside.

A View of an Ice Rink at the Beach?
J & G Aug 24, 2009
Got an interior room with a view of the ice skating rink. Preferred to have an outdoor balcony and this was not clear when I ... made the reservation. Several miles from the beach boardwalk which is where I wanted to be but could not get a reservation for. Hotel was ok - family oriented with lots of kids. Beach was very skinny at the North end.

Weekend Getaway
PLH Aug 16, 2009
We stayed two nights at the Carousel on the weekend of Aug 14th. Our room was on the third floor and facing the parking lot ... which was fine with us. The room had two beds(comfortable), a kitchen table and a wet bar(small sink, fridge and microware). The room was clean and relatively quiet. The hotel has free parking. There are ample spaces in the parking deck. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant the first night. The food was on par with the Golden Corral. We preferred something better so we ate out the following night. For lunch and breakfast, Denny's, Burger King, McDonalds and Billy Subs are in walking distance. Plus Food Lion is across the street. The staff was mostly young adults from Eastern Europe. They were all polite and helpful. This includes the front desk, cleaning crew and wait staff. Complimentary beach chairs were provided by the hotel and beach umbrellas can be purchased on the sand. This place was kid friendly with an indoor skating rink and indoor/outdoor pools. The hotel had a complimentary ice show which was brief but entertaining. The rate was expensive but standard for a beachfront hotel. Don't expect the Ritz-Carlton. It's Ocean City. We were there for the beach so the room was a place to sleep and clean up.

Would not recommend
Kloby Aug 14, 2009
The hotel/condo was lost in the 70's and needs updating. We were disappointed with the unclean room. Blood on the carpet. ... Coffee pot and cups not cleaned The room door had wide gaps in it, screen door coming off. Our room happened to be located across the hall from the housekeeping staff supply room. At 0830 we could hear all of the chatter and we could barely get out of our room as the carts were in the hallway. This made it very difficult to get our luggage in and out of our room. The hotel needs to invest in some new beach chairs as they are falling apart. I will not stay here again nor would I recommend to anyone to stay here. The food at the poolside bar was not good.

Carousel Hotal OC, MD- Never Again
No sleep for the Family Friday Jul 19, 2009
We arrived to the Hotel and thought that it appeared we would enjoy our trip. We got settled in our room around 10:30 PM. ... From that point till 3 AM in the morning we good hear kids unsupervised running the halls and the common areas screaming and yelling. You can hear patrons of the Bar outside all night long. The room was very dated. The stained carpets were ragged and torn. The bathroom was cramped and not very clean. The towels and linens had colored stains on them and were not attractive at all. The beds were cheap and worn out. The staff was not friendly when looking to find additional accomadations. There is no option for food after 10 PM. The breakfast buffet was not very good and the waitstaff could be improved. We actuall saw a couple next to us get up and leave after waiting for ten minutes to not have their server come to them after being seated. There was only ten people at the restuarant at that time to boot. Even though we paid in advance we left a day earlier and found better accommandation for nearly the same price. It was an expensive lesson but we learned that we will never stay here again!

DIRTY!!! Cust serv pretty miserable too!
BCPD Jul 6, 2009
Our first room had trash under the comforter, within the sheets. The room they moved us to had long hair on the sheets and ... pillowcases. This suggested to us that beds were remade and sheets were not changed! The second room also hadn't been vacuumed in who knows how long. At the pool bar our draft beers tasted funny so I went to the bartender and told her to which her reply was, and I quote, "So". I was absolutely appalled at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. The only saving grace was the front desk ladies who really tried to help on the super busy 4th of July weekend at the beach.
