A thoroughly modern experience just outside BWI
The Aloft Baltimore Washington International Airport is no ordinary airport hotel. The public spaces hum with bold colors and technological accents like LCD TVs and touch-and-go check-in kiosks. On-site perks like poolside Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gourmet pantry demonstrate a keen understanding of the modern traveler's needs.

Great Hotel! Trendy and Modern
We were in town for the Otakon Convention in Baltimore - we chose to stay closer to the airport and use the light-rail instead of trying to drive and park downtown - we found that to be a GREAT choice! Aloft has a shuttle that is available 24/7. We got back to the light rail station after 11 - called and the shuttle was there in 3 mins! Plenty of space - and all the amenities.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
The hotel has a cold food quick pick-up - sandwiches, salads, fruit, desserts - plus a microwave, but the offerings are a little pricey. They have hot offerings at breakfast which looked good... nothing complimentary (except coffee in the room).

Ok
Hotel was cheaply put together and it was starting to show significant wear despite it being only 2-3 yes old. You could see things falling apart in the hallways and rooms. The staff was pleasant. The room was comfortable after we complained that the a/c was not working and moved to another room. The pool hours were very restricted for a family. The design was cool, but .. The airplanes were very loud! The prices for coffee and treats were higher than necessary. Not necessarily my next choice.

Aloft Review by GarzaJ
When you walk into the hotel, the atmosphere is awesome and very welcoming. Many people mingling in the area and making it feel like a lounge. The bar was awesome and the hospitality was good. The only thing I had wrong in my room was a small crack on the LCD TV screen, caused by other people before me, and one of the outlets were coming out from the wall. The beds are very comfortable and fluffy. I am very picky when it comes to hotels and I would stay in another Aloft hotel again when ever possible.

New Experience
So this seems to be a relatively new chain of hotels. If you are looking for something different, this is the place. When you walk in you feel like your walking into a low key night club, granted a little brighter. The bar lounge area and check in are all right their with an open concept floor plan. The initial welcome we got was quick courteous and helpful. The hotel is easy to navigate and found our rooms with no trouble. The rooms are .... well lets say not the ordinary. If you ever have seen a documentary on Asian efficacy apt's, that is what this room reminded me of. The room is very bright with floor to celling windows and vibrant colors, as with the rest of the hotels. The bath room looks like it just flows into the rest and takes a second to find the door, when you realize that the giant mirror is the door. The bar was good, the bartender was nice and helpful in giving us hint on places to go. In the morning we had a different hostess and she was the only employee that i would rate bellow average, she just seemed to not care. We did have a few problems.. First there are no locks on the bathroom door and it kept sliding open on its own(shoved a towel in it to hold it shut). When we stayed it was me and my fiancée and we asked for more pillows, we had to ask twice, and it still took about and hour or so to get them. The other thing is that for 100+ a night I think you paying an extra 20-40 a night just for the ambiance of this place. The rooms feels a little... incomplete maybe. Not quite sure how to describe it. I feel like i have had more room and just as good of a room at cheaper chains. But overall very nice place and with a little bit of work with the rooms I believe they can perfect their new concept to hotels and have a very successful chain.

Short drive from hotel
We used this hotel as a stop over from NJ. We are doing a road trip to NC, stopping at a few of the restaurants featured on Food Networks Diner, Dive inns, and Dives. From this hotel it was about 20 mins or so to Baltimore where there are a few and the same to the inner harbor and area attractions. Your not in the city which is nice but you not that far either.

Great Hotel
Hotel was friendly and helpful. We asked for some ideas of things to do around town and they printed off directions for us that were easy to follow. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Couldn't hear anyone around us. Great stay!

On Friday Aloft is a Night club / Hotel
On Friday Night October 22, 2010 this Hotel was basically a Night Club with rooms. There was a movie / interview / documentary being filmed of a Rapper sitting in the lobby drinking wine with his girlfriend. It looked like thugs were milling around the lobby to protect the rapper but the thug part could only have been my imagination. My room was loud until 2:00 AM. I could here doors opening and closing. Knocking, people talking in the hall. Loud music. This was not coming from one place it was just a night club setting with people milling around the second floor hallway and basically carrying on and making noise until 2:00 AM.

Good time turned bad
We did not like the hotel AT ALL!! It was definately geared towards young, tree-hugging liberals. We chose the hotel based on cost and location. There was no bathroom door in the room we had (some people like a little privacy) and the "hybrid-only" parking was closer than the handicapped parking. Then, they charged my debit card 2 additional times for the room that had already been paid for[...] on my Discover card. I have spent 2 days so far and numerous phone calls trying to get the expenses credited back but so far nothing has been done. I WILL NOT stay there again nor will I recommend this hotel to any friends.
