Modern, airy and 100 percent healthy: A fresh take on the chain hotel
Element Arundel Mills is not the average chain hotel. Its relaxed, live-well mantra kicks in the moment you enter the sunlit lobby and persists throughout the entire hotel design. Guest rooms resemble upscale urban apartments, with full kitchens, handsome wood floors and an open-flow layout. Made daily and on site, the hotel's free breakfasts inspire wholesome eating and the 24-hour gourmet pantry offers a selection of healthy snacks and meals. Baltimore-Washington International Airport is just a 15-minute drive, but it feels a world away.
Highlights
- Baltimore-Washington International Airport is 15 minutes away
- Free shuttle service to BWI and various local points
- Indoor heated pool
- Light, healthy fare available 24/7 in the hotel's on-site gourmet pantry
Location
Element Arundel Mills sits just off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295), in Hanover, Maryland. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Baltimore-Washington International Airport and 25 minutes from downtown Baltimore's bustling Inner Harbor. Arundel Mills Mall -- Maryland's largest -- is right across the road and teeming with shops, restaurants and entertainment.
Rooms
The accommodations at Element Arundel Mills bear closer resemblance to upscale urban apartments than cookie-cutter hotel rooms, with crisp white walls, handsome wood floors and fully-equipped kitchens. Free Wi-Fi is the standard and the hotel's signature Westin Heavenly Beds more than deserve their high-comfort reputation.
Features
Element Arundel Mills serves free hot breakfast, made daily and on site, with everything from fresh fruits and yogurts to savory breakfast sandwiches.
Dubbed "Restore," the hotel's on-site gourmet pantry stays open 24/7 with a healthy selection of light to-go fare (pastas, salads, heat-and-eat meals) and snacks (gourmet chips, nuts, yogurts) -- plus a few indulgences too. It also has beer and wine.

Guests hop the hotel's free shuttle to Baltimore-Washington International Airport and various other local destinations.
Free, and open 24/7, the Element Arundel Mills' on-site fitness center features 900 square feet of naturally lit space and an assortment of cardio machines, strength-training equipment and yoga mats.

VERY NICE HOTEL
I travel to Baltimore for business about once a month and try to make my rounds to a lot of hotels to find the best one. Well, this one is near the top. Although location is not ideal for someone who wants to be downtown and around the inner-harbor, it is beside a mall with several restaurants, pubs, and fast food joints and just a few miles from the airport. The rooms are ultra modern and have a glass steam shower, full kitchen, and very comfortable bed with a comforter. It was basically like a mini Manhattan apartment...very cool. Fitness was sweet, pool was nice, they have a bar in the hotel Aloft which is connected to Element. Also, every night from 5:00 - 7:00 they have complementary vegies, snacks, sodas, and a KEG of Coors Light on tap!!! Which I must say I have never been to a hotel with a complementary keg on tap. So long story short I will be staying here again. They only have a few locations across the country now...I hope they expand quickly!

Short drive from hotel
If you want to eat at one of THE BEST seafood restaurant in Baltimore, go to G&M which is about 5 miles away. You will never have better crab in your life - I promise you. And it is not expensive, very reasonable and less then you will find anywhere else. Just ask the front desk for directions...but let me tell you this will be one you come back to every time you're around.

The Best
When we first arrived the staff was very friendly. While at the element I slept most of the day and went shopping. Nothing was missing! Compared to other locations this was one of the best. Inexpensive, comfortable beds, nice clean showers and rooms.

Ok hotel
The first night there, our refrigerator broke and leaked water all over the floor, staining one of my bags. The cleaning staff didn't do a great job, and we ran out of toilet paper 3 times because it was never stocked. The bed was amazingly soft, and very comfortable. They also had a pretty good free breakfast. The bed was definitely the best part of the stay.

My Favorite
I stayed at the element and was amazed at all I got for the price. I had what I believe was called a one bedroom suite that came with two thirty two inch televisions and a bed that was to die for comfortable. The hotel is a little out of the way from down town but the hotel does provide a shuttle that will take you to the BWI light rail station and from there its pretty easy to get around by public transportation if your not driving. As far as the hotel goes it was spot less when i checked in and the hotel itself has sort of a white tea aroma in the air that's very relaxing.I'm not one one to write reviews but I had to compliment this particular hotel chain, there doing something right.

In Hotel
If your really on a budget the great thing about this hotel is the rooms that come with full kitchens.there is a supermarket that's in area of how far the hotels shuttle will travel,so do your bit of shopping and arrange for a pick up.

Great hotel, nice location
I was able to check in early, I did call ahead first and they were very courteous and helpful. The room was much nicer then even the photos portrayed. The bathroom shower was awesome and the bed was sooooo comfy. I will defiantly stay again next time I return to the area.

Short drive from hotel
We were in town for a baseball game at the Baltimore Camden Yards stadium. It only took twenty minutes to get there and it beats staying in downtown. Not to mention the mall is across the street and there is pleanty to do while you are there. We also went to D.C. and it too was a short drive. What a perfect location and great value on the price. I know the same type of hotel in D.C. or Baltimore would easily run you twice the price.

Out of the Ordinary Hotel for the area
Very friendly staff and comfortable hotel. Nice breakfast with good selection. The hotel had a European feel to it and was unusual for the area. I would go back again.

Great, but.....
I really enjoyed my stay there. It has a different feel from the ordinary; in a good way. I would definitely stay there again. We did have a problem with our fridge. It had a very bad odor; like it had been unplugged with something left in it. This is very uncommon. Also, not having an ice maker on the room floors was a bit odd. You have to go to the front desk to get ice which was somewhat inconvenient to say the least. Besides that, the stay was great. The beds are very comfortable & the rooms have a nice "green" feel to them.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Arundel Mills shopping center is about 2-3 blocks away, but it would be a good idea to drive because the walk back with shopping bags might not be so pleasant. Walmart, Costco, and a few other stores surround the mall so there's plenty of places to go & spend money.

It was fine - but it was kind of odd. trying hard to be hip and "green". Room lighting was all flourescent and not bright enough.
