good room, solid service

Pros: good size room, clean, quiet, non-smoking, plenty of fresh towels, plenty of hot water, wonderful waffles on free breakfast bar. Cons: smell of room (laundry detergent??) lingers on clothes, some kind of powdered egg patties instead of real scrambled eggs on free breakfast bar, dinner entrees were only okay, all rooms look out on highway or mall parking lots.

Wonderful

Couldn't ask for a nicer stay, would have been nice if the sauna worked but everything else made up for it, the free breakfast in the morning was unreal, anything and everything you could ask for, fresh, hot and served with a smile, would stay here again and again. A+

Ramada Plaza Hagarstown Sep 2011

We stayed two nights. Got 15% discount coupons for lunch or dinner at the hotel's restaurant, but couldn't use them due to our schedule. Their "continental breakfast" was actually more extensive, but all self-service -- very satisfactory. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Our principal concern is that the hotel is hard to get to -- a maze of streets and an underpass at that location, along with road construction.

Get good directions via mapquest or the like, or a good GPS system -- it's a road maze there.

Wish there was a reason to stay here

We just used this hotel as an overnight stop, but we were impressed with what a nice hotel it was. The rooms were clean and roomy and nicely furnished and had a small fridge. The bed was comfortable. The lobby was pretty. There were tons of restaurants all around the area (we ate at Ruby Tuesdays). It was a little hard to find our way to their driveway, it's kind of off a connector road. We did not look at the workout room or pool. If you need a place to stop on Rt. 81, you'll get a good night's sleep here for a decent price.

Friendly and Has Potential

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-maintained. The only drawback was the poor breakfast. The breakfast attendant wa very helpful and friendly, but the food selections were very limited. No waffle iron, no yogurt, no granola, etc. At this price range, other hotels will provide better meals.

Excellent

Excellent choice for all but the disabled. There are no curb inclines and no shower grab bars. Otherwise the rooms are capacious with all the amenitioes save those you find in a Ritz Carlton. There is a full breakfast though at the basic level(What more can you expect for $81.00?) I suspect Ramada just bought it and is pushing to get customers. Go for it!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

The malls are there with their junk food, etc. But Sears was a lifesaver two years ago when I blew a tire and was able to replace all four because of a fantastic sale.

A nice stay

The service was very good to excellent from the Front Desk, Restaurant, Lounge to the Maintenance personnel. I have stayed here before and will continue to stay at the Plaza when I am in Hagerstown. The view of the mountains was nice

Shopping Center is right there and the Premium Outlet Mall is close by for plenty of shopping. E.L.M. Shoe Store in Greencastle is just down the road on I-81 and is delightful. One of my stops in the area.
