Howard Johnson Express Inn - College Park

It compared to other Howard Johnsons we've been to in price, but not in quality. The room was small, cooled by a small wall-unit air conditioner that was noisy, and the bathroom was tiny. It reminded me very much of a cheap motel, except I would have paid a lot less for what was honestly the same quality. It wasn't a bad experience, and the front desk was nice, but I wouldn't pay that much for the location or room quality again.

We reserved 3 handicap accessible rooms, 2 to be adjoining. all to reqire no steps. We got only 1 handicap accessible room and none were adjoining. We requested all 3 rooms have a fridge and microwave. Only 1 did which was really a pain as all 3 housed insulin dependant diabetics.

The Hotel was in a great location for me to visit potential apartments. We are relocating to the area. I was dissatisfied with the room because it smelled of urine and the air conditioner didn't keep room cool. Had an incident with someone stealing my do not disturb sign. Had to constantly request for more towels and staff in office didn't have access to housekeeping. It was a quiet area but not enough parking space to area since parking had to be shared with another hotel on the same property.

It smelled like someone had urinated in it. The bathroom was particularly bad. Does the air conditioner need a new filter? Don't know. But this was a problem for everyone who stayed there to save money at the conference I attended.

Hotel was good for given price.

UPON ARRIVING IN THE PARKING LOT I COULD SEE THAT THE HOTEL WAS RUNDOWN AND THERE WAS A DISTURBANCE IN THE LOT. WHEN I WENT IN TO CANCEL, THE CLERK WAS BEHIND BULLETPROOF GLASS AND SAID I COULD NOT CANCEL. I WENT TO ANOTHER HOTEL. THIS MOTEL SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ON THE LIST OF PLACES TO STAY BECAUSE THEIR WEBSITE IS DECEIVING. THEY WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY EITHER.

Room was large, clean, and adequate.

The hotel appears to be an old one and could definately be upgraded to look more apealing. It presently seems more fitting for truckers etc. The lighting inside definately need to be brighter inside. There were, what appeared to be, many water stain marks within the bathroom area. Never again. Please find better accomodations.
