Location isn't ideal. The Red Line is a little bit of a pain and seems to be the least favorite of the DC Metro lines, and if you're visiting the area to "do DC" you're better off actually staying downtown. But service and all of that is very good. My only real complaint is that the dining room is super expensive, and generally not worth it. Not bad food by any means. Just overpriced. The warm cookie when you check in is a nice touch, though.

Pleasant, unexceptional
Stayed one night in early January 2012. I do not spend much time in hotels but it seemed reasonable in all aspects. Giant TV in the room was a modest bonus. Gym was small but serviceable. Best feature was proximity to downtown Bethesda, if that can be considered a plus. Wish it had been slightly cheaper.

Very nice hotel and a great value!
We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas time and were very pleased with all aspects of our stay. This hotel seemed just as nice as the one further down Wisconsin Ave. where others in my family stayed, and was only half the cost! We were a 10-minute walk to the Metro which was fine for us; the hotel also offers to shuttle you there. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very nice. The huge flat screen TV was fun. The free WiFi was pretty slow though (256K); they make you pay $10/day for faster 6Gig WiFi. Overall we were very pleased to find a nice hotel right on Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda that was very reasonably priced ($70/night). I will definitely consider staying there again the next time I'm in Bethesda.

Very pleasant stay
Ricky at the front desk was very accommodating, courteous and helpful. The fresh, hot ,yummy walnut, chocolate chip cookie at check-in was a VERY welcome surprise! Rooms were fairly clean (chair was dirty with mysterious spots). Room was spacious and had all necessary amenities. Bed was very comfortable and sheets were soft. Great flat screen tv and plenty of room for the business traveler. Check-in and check-out were seamless.

Short walk from hotel
Tempo Pizza just across the street served tasty pizza and salad at fairly reasonable prices. Guapo's next door looked good, too. A very short driving distance away is the Food and Wine Co. restaurant and they served some of the best appetizers we have EVER had! Also, Olazzo italian restaurant (within walking distance) on Norfolk Avenue was delicious! Flaxella (within walking distance) is a great, healthy coffee shop with all things flax and a very nice staff!

I love their beds
I can't rave enough about their beds and comforters - clean white, fresh and very comfy. The staff was very professional and attentive. The parking attendants were ok. AND you get a warm chocolate chip cookie when you check in. The free internet (couldn't find anyone else who included this) was adequate to check email and such. I wasn't streaming videos or anything. They offered a higher rate for a better connection ($9.95), but I didn't have the need. I'd be inclined book again at a DoubleTree.

Doubletree
The hotel is nicely furnished and newly appointed. I had their allergy free room, which was very pleasant. However, the a/c unit was very loud and the filtering system also emitted noise. The noise made it difficult to sleep through the night.
