High-rise comfort in happening downtown ‘hood -- outdoor pool included
The Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel is a 707-room high-rise that takes pride in its convenient location: The 1st Mariner Arena sits across the street and Inner Harbor's attractions are just blocks away. But there is also something to be said for the interior. The sizable rooms and suites emanate an urban vibe, the event space is seemingly unlimited and the ground level boasts Shula's 2, a casual bar with a knack for savory American cuisine. One more perk: An outdoor rooftop pool -- seasonal, of course.Highlights
- Convenient downtown location, three blocks from Inner Harbor and Baltimore Convention Center
- Seasonal outdoor swimming pool
- Shula's 2, a casual on-site bar and restaurant that serves contemporary American cuisine

Worse shower in the history of hotels!
Room was great, bed was comfy, then I woke up and went to take a shower... That's were it all went wrong! There was No water pressure because they put restrictors in the heads. It felt like I was being peed on and not taking a shower. Pressure in the sink was fine. Not a good way to start your day when you have meetings all day. Shower head was broke on top of it and would not stay up, it just flopped down every time. When I told the front desk clerk she basically told me "o well". I will never go back! Not even a sorry can I offer you a coffee.

Orioles Friday Night Game
We checked in late, about 5:45 pm, for a 7:05 pm Orioles/Yankees game. Valet parkingstaff got us right in and the friendly Bellman took us right up to our room to quickly freshen up before walking to the stadium. Staff was great and friendly, gave us directions to walk and where not to go in the city. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Bug bites yield poor management decision
I stayed here 2 nights with 2 girlfriends and a baby. We checked in around 1:30 am and turned in around 3am. My girlfriend awoke at 6am with 2 bites that she did not go to bed with. The baby also had a couple of red marks on his face that faded during the day. We had read reviews that bedbugs were in the north tower and called ahead to be placed in the south tower, which was honored. We finally convinced ourselves that it was our imagination and went on with our day. We got in bed early that evening but did not go to sleep. This time while lying in bed my girlfriend jumped out of bed because she was bitten again. After searching the bed we saw what looked to be a mite, but was determined to be lint by hotel security. We do not know what was in the bed but something was definitely bitting her, as evidenced by the red bites on her. We were moved to another room and checked out the following morning. At that time, I spoke with the desk attendant and asked if the bill I had was the final bill. She said "I can take off the parking if you want me to." I was later told by the manager that since the bill was prepaid there was nothing they could do about the room bill. The poor review is not a result of the problem occurring but in the response from management. Nothing could be done to take away the bite after the fact. Reality is that the customer is NOT always right however a reasonable adult with red bug bites has been bitten by something. The hotel should have found a way to reimburse us for room fee paid. Period.

Great Location and Customer Service
The hotel is three short blocks north of Inner Harbor center. The hotel staff was amazingly customer friendly. When we remarked that we had to park on the green level of the onsite underground parking ramp, and thus had to carry our luggage up one flight of stairs to the elevators, the front desk clerk immediately upgraded our room to a corner, delux king room (from a standard queen room.) The room decor was new and very clean. The bell captain suggestion for a restaurant was very good and the bartender was very helpful in suggesting sites to visit.

Shula steak house in the lobby had very good food and prices were very reasonable. Everything was very convenient and the staff was friendly and courteous.

Nice room, but not the cleanest
The room was nice, with a very comfortable bed. However, a large, framed piece of artwork on the wall next to the bed had three runny white stains on the glass - appeared to be a liquid substance that had dried as it ran down the glass. Looked like it had been there for a while. I don't think it was milk... Use your imagination for what we believe it was. The maid staff needs to pay better attention to the condition of the room. Had we noticed before unpacking, and not been so tired, we would have asked for another room.
