Great Weekend Getaway
Needed A Break Oct 19, 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Renaissance in the Inner Harbor. We booked a basic room but was given a room on ... the 11th floor overlooking the harbor. Seeing that it rained the entire weekend and we spent more time in the room than expected, this room made a positive impact on our wet weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. [...].The hotel is connected the the Gallery that has a small foodcourt. This is very convenient if you want to grab a sandwich or a slice a pizza. Overall, we had a terrific time and the Renaissance was a great pick on our part. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Even in the rain we were able to walk to the Aquarium, Science Museum, and the Civil War Ship, The Constellation.

Great location, Great Hotel.....
Lab Guy Sep 20, 2009
I was in town for a conference at the hotel. Good points were: location...it is located on inner harbor with great view, ... attractions, restaurants, and even a mall of which part is in the bottom of the hotel. There was an Orioles and Red Sox game in town and the stadium is very close. The only drawback was a lot of street noise you could hear in the room due to weekend activities in the harbor.

If you're looking for a hotel thats clean, has friendly staff, comfortable beds, then the Renaissance Hotel is for you. Very ... close to the inner harbor (walking distance), the hotel is in a mall called the Gallery, and a convenient walk to the national aquarium. Lots of restaurants to choose from, lots of shops to go to, it was just a very convenient area to be because everything is really close by. One tip though, if you're not familiar with the inner harbor, ask the concierge for some suggestions because the mall did not have a lot of choices for dining. Everything is IN the inner harbor.

Location, Location, Location!
Jillyjill Jul 7, 2009
We were there for one night on July 4th, 2009. This hotel appears to have been recently renovated and is quite nice. The ... decor in the hotel and the rooms is very tasteful. The rooms, bathroom and beds are very comfortable and well appointed. The windows have small sections that open for access to fresh air (and significant street noise if you're facing the Inner Harbor). There is a nice electronic room safe and small refridgerator that actually kept everything quite cold! The staff were all very helpful, friendly and professional. Room service was decent and reasonably timely. Parking is convenient ($26) and reasonably priced for (~30 hours) the area--you can come and go as many times as you like for the one price--excellent! The bathroom shower head was spittly and not very powerful, but the hair dryer was of good quality. The hotel room door did not close very well (but locked just fine) and there was a large (1.5 inch) space under the door that let in hallway noise (slamming doors and running kids)--but a towel solved most of that problem. The pool is small (and very chlorine-y) but had two staff members, plenty of chairs and many extra pool towels. It is indoor only, but is located in a nice atrium area of the 7th floor roof deck. The roof deck is only on the 7th floor (not the 12th, upper room floor) and is fully enclosed by the hotel--you cannot see the city or streets from the deck area. There are plenty of tables and chairs on the deck. We reserved a Harbor View room on an upper floor and received exactly what we requested. It was quite lovely and we were very happy with our choice of hotel! A quick word of warning if you go to see the fireworks--some Harbor-View rooms will have a blocked view (or partially blocked view) of the Pier 6 barge because of the "World Trade Building" that sits along the water. There is another barge in the Inner Harbor itself, but it has the smaller more forceful "quick" fireworks rather than the steady "larger" bursts. However, most of the rooms along the front side will be able to see both barges. It is a reasonably good choice for seeing fireworks and spectacular if you get the right room!

Everything is super close by! You can walk to Little Italy and the Harbor Mall is practically IN the hotel. The Inner Harbor is across the street. Water taxis will take you all over the rest of the area and the front door staff will get car taxis for you in a flash. The location can't be beat!

Very Poor
Michael Aug 25, 2008
Upon arriving at 2:30 PM we were advised that our room was not ready. We were finally allowed to check into our room at 5 ... PM. The hotel elevators were extreemly slow and unable to handle the guest capacity so we choose to utilize the stairs from our 8th floor room. In utilizing the West stair well, specifically between the 5th & 4th floors (kitchen & dining are located on the 4th floor), is was evident due to the massive amounts of discarded cigarette butts and trash this was the unofficial break area for the dining and wait staff. The stair well was absolutely filthy. Sunday morning there were used discarded condoms in the stair well. I guess the cooks were having a little desert. Glad we did not eat at the restaurant! The location was great but I will avoid this and other Renaissance Hotels at all costs in the future.

The Renaissance Harborside was very convenient to every place we wanted to go. Camden Yards, Aquarium, restaurants. We ... walked everyplace and had no hassle trying to find places in a car. The beds were very comfortable. We were however sur- prised with the price of room that you had to ask for a refrigera- tor in the room. We took our 11 year old grandson and all of us had a great experience.

In The Middle Of It All......
Tim May 6, 2007
If you're looking for a hotel in the middle of the Inner Harbor/Convention/Sports experience, the Renaissance fits the ... bill. The lobby is filled with middle school cheerleading squads, conventioneers, and visiting baseball teams. The dining is across the street at Inner Harbor or through the double doors in the Gallery mall. And the rooms are clean and large, though not spectacular. But it's very convenient, friendly, crowded, and by the end of the weekend, you'll probably want to know where the cheerleading competition is being held!

There's a Dunkin Donuts three blocks away. It was very crowded but the donuts and bagels were fresh and tasty!
