Grand OLD Hotel

The Lord Baltimore is a grand old hotel. That said the word old should be in caps. The elevators take forever and one goes to the wrong floors on a regular basis. The rooms are nice and clean but very dark. Ours had a view of an office building that was less than 20 foot from the window. Overall our stay was good becuse we only used the room to sleep since most of our time was spent out walking the city.

Great Overnight Experience

Really enjoyed The Lord Baltimore Hotel. Walked to Harbor and Camden Yards within minutes! Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. Parking garage was only a block away and you have the choice to self park or valet from Hotel. Only cost us $15 to self park for 24 hours. Parking garage staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

It's okay

This hotel is a good value but it's still a little outdated and the air conditioning is not what I am used to at other hotels. Also the elevators take forever

Pretty decent hotel

I stayed there along with friends for the Otakon convention. We were impressed with the rooms, how clean, up-to-date, and neatly designed it looked. The staff was very friendly, even when were in our costumes; they wee enthusiastic. So we felt very comfortable. The location was pretty perfect because it's about two blocks away from the convention. We basically walked everyday. It's very a reasonable price. My only problem: The elevators. They seem slow and they were small, despite that there was about 6 of them. It's made checkout a "worthwhile experience." I would definitely stay again.

Overbooked

Unfortunately I never had the chance to stay at the Lord Baltimore because they were over-sold and they rebooked me into the Baltimore Hilton. However I wouldn't I would have known that I was rebooked unless I would have called 48 hours before my arrival, which was only because I was making a request for a corner room. I was told of the rebooking and then left to my own devices to receive confirmation from the Hilton that I indeed had a reservation. The front desk folks at the Baltimore Hilton were wonderful and they booked me an amazing room facing Camden Yards. We had an incredible weekend…no thanks to the folks at the LB.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to the Kona Grill. Great food. Off the path from the crowd at the Inner Harbor. The Rusty Scupper although a bit expensive had great food and views. Also walkable.

Interesting environment

The hotel definitely has an ancient feel. Although obviously renovated from its inception, it still feels old. the elevators move pretty slowly and do not line up evenly with the floors. The ironing board would not stay standing to its proper height. The door stop was broken in my room. there was also an old wash cloth hanging over the shower curtain. The hotel needs to implement a recycling program. The staff was very nice and friendly. It is nice that the hotel provides free internet access in the rooms. I appreciated that there was a snack machine, but would have preferred that it was not in the basement. The hotel location is a little obscure and could easily be missed. The closest parking garage is about a block away but is very ancient and a little eerie.
