There's someone in my bed!

The hotel itself was clean, however, after check in, we went out to get dinner and see the town. Upon returning we went to our room to see a hooker knocking on our door. She said "is this your room? My friend is in there." Our keys would not work, went to the front desk, they had issued new keys and let a "john" in our room. Without ID! I returned to the room. Pounded on the door until he finally opened. Security was telling ME to calm down and that I would wake the other guests. Finally got in. Thank god nothing was stolen. Like my Car Keys, cell phone, IPOD. Manager on duty, Darryl, said "these things happen and was an honest mistake!" Are you kidding me? I had to show ID to get the room, they should never give a key. This is unacceptable.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE THIS IS THE GHETTO!!!!

I will never use orbitz again to book a vacation. The location is in the ghetto. When I arrived I realized we were in trouble, I went to the customer service desk and asked for a manager. As she sucked her teeth she said you need to talk to orbitz. I called orbitz and told them they returned part of my money and said the manger had the say as to wheter I would recieve all of it. They kept part of my money and I never went past the lobby.Orbitz beleieved her over me about the location. Please do your own research about this location.I feel orbitz and Holiday Inn could have done better. The property around the hotel have busted out windows with boards on them. People on milk crates drinking and laying on the ground. People walking up to you and trying to wash your windows. Please Please becareful before booking.........

Not so Good...

If you are going to watch a baseball game pay the extra money to stay a little closer to the stadium. Hotel's free breakfast was nothing special. The first room we stayed in smelled of paint so bad it made me sick (they were possibly painting the black spots in the bathroom that might have been mold....of course no vent fans in the bathroom will do that). The room we moved to was a smoking room...enough said. The ac in the new room leaked so bad that there was a constant wet spot on the floor. Pool was OK. Staff was overall pretty friendly. We were told that because we did not book directly with the hotel we were not guaranteed a smoke free room. The shuttle service was OK, if you needed to go exactly on the hour....if it filled up you had to wait another hour...they did not run constant shuttles (they would after the game, but we ended up walking the mile and a half back instead of waiting). Again pay a little more money and stay right in the Inner Harbor you will enjoy your stay a LOT more.

Not so good

Checking in was a hassel. Holiday Inn had 2 different confirmation numbers (4 rooms instead of 2)[...] I killed 2 bugs(alive)in my room and the other room had a smokers burn in the covers (non-smoking room). Their satisfaction card was supposed to be left at the front desk.I tend to think they threw the bad evaluations away. They served a breakfast bar but were out of certain essentials like milk and some trays were empty for a long time before being checked.

horrible facility

The front desk manager was great and the facility was well kept. However, the faucet fell off when I turned the water on in the sink. The handle on the toilet also fell off when I flushed the toilet. I will seriously reconsider staying at this hotel for this reason.

My review of Holiday Inn Express BALTIMORE AT THE STADIUMS

We were looking for an inn within easy walking distance of the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The distance was too great and the neighborhood too rough to permit this. We passed several hotels much nearer and will choose them in the future.

Mixed experience

Nothing special about the location, other than proximity to the stadium - it's in kind of an industrial part of town, and the construction on the casino had the streets and sidewalk all torn up, making it difficult to walk anywhere. To make up for that they have an hourly shuttle to the inner Harbor. They did have parking available for $15 a day - but they were very full this weekend and recommended that since I had a space, I shouldn't drive anywhere or I might not be able to park when I come back (not what I want to hear when I'm paying for parking and the hotel isn't in a great neighborhood). The room itself was great - big, clean. Beds were comfortable with extra pillows. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good - could have used a few more healthy options. Overall - for the price a good place to spend the night, then get out to a better part of town (if they'll let you take your car).
