Contemporary quarters shake up downtown’s cookie-cutter scene
As a member of the Preferred Hotel Group's Sterling Hotels -- a collection of independent, free-spirited properties -- the 97-room Brookshire Suites hotel puts a premium on character. A contemporary aesthetic persists throughout (purple couches in the lobby, a moon-and-stars carpet in the Cloud Club) and guests enjoy access to special perks and services that many other 3-star hotels leave out: free breakfast (and yes, it's hot), free evening cocktail receptions (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and face time with an "Experience Specialist" or custom trip-planner.Highlights:
- Prime Inner Harbor location, steps from restaurants and shops
- Complimentary breakfast and evening cocktail receptions
- Personalized concierge service available to all guests
- High-speed Internet access
Location
The Brookshire Suites hotel sits smack in the middle of downtown's bustling Inner Harbor district. Guests can walk to shops, restaurants, and a number of attractions (the USS Constellation, for example, is just a few blocks away).
Rooms
Don't let the hotel name fool you. The Brookshire Suites offers standard rooms in addition to suite-style accommodations. The executive suites feature a spacious living-room parlor with a sofa, oversized desk, and city views, and a separate bedroom.
Features
Every morning, the hotel puts out a hearty -- and completely free -- breakfast spread in the top-floor Cloud Club, a common space open to all guests with floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping Inner Harbor views. On the menu: eggs, bacon, pancakes -- the works. Come evening, guests unwind back up in the club over free cocktails and snacks (Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings). There is no full-service restaurant at the Brookshire Suites hotel, but dozens of eateries lie within steps of the front door, including Harborplace's Phillips Seafood and Babalu at Power Plant Live.

Nice hotel near the inner harbor
This is a great location. The breakfast every morning on the rooftop area is very nice including my favorite belgian waffle maker. The social hour at night is okay including the free wine or beer. The beds were comfortable. It was a little dark in the room. There was free water in bottles. My suite had a living room. The staff was helpful when I had a problem getting my key to work. The woman at the desk was friendly and beautiful. I didn't try the internet. Parking is convenient nearby or their valet parking. That's not the picture of the hotel but the real place looks fine.

Value & Location makes an excellent stay
Staff was very friendly and bent over backwards for our requests. Needed extra towels, ironing board, tooth brush & rollaway bed and there wasn't any problem getting these things. We were there with our grandchildren to attend a wedding and the two room suite was perfect for the four of us. Great hot breakfast buffet and happy hour. Walking distance to Inner Harbor. You need to use the valet parking as there isn't a parking garage attached to the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Colleg move in
We stayed at the Brookshire overnight to move my son into college the next morning. The staff was very pleasant, courteous and helpful. The room however, needed help. The rug was stained, the desk chair had metal sticking out, and there was a fairly large burn on the counter. Overall, it really needed some updating.

But what did I pay for?
My fiancee and I have stayed at the Brookshire Suites previously and never had any issue with their hotel or staff and this time was no different. However, when I booked the room I was under the impression that I booked a "suite" and to my surprise got a standard room. I guess I should have read all the details before booking, but all in all it was a nice hotel if you're just staying a night.

What a waste of time/$$$$$
What a nightmare this hotel was. The only good thing about this place was the 2 free happy hour drinks and breakfast in am. A very overpriced and noisey hotel. You could hear everything...and I mean everything. Standard Room is very small....Internet is very slow....said you could use wireless in club area but didn't work... Valet Parking is $29 a day......
