Convenient location without a high price

The staff from check-in to cleaning personnel were cheerful, positive, and helpful. The facility is located in a ... semi-industrial/commercial area but you wouldn't know it because it's surrounded by trees that effectively screen out the commercial surroundings. The fireplaces in the common area gave a cozy and homey feel. The breakfast bar was more than adequate with a good variety of healthy (and not-so-healthy!) foods. The Inn is convenient to shopping plazas with restaurants. It is convenient to the attractions of the colonial capitol of Annapolis and its waterfront, the U. S. Naval Academy and St. John's College. Parking is at a premium in the downtown area and it would have been nice if the Hampton Inn could have provided some sort of shuttle service to the downtown waterfront area-- would really be helpful on football weekends when Navy is playing a home game or there are sailboat or powerboat shows going on.

There are plenty of typical shopping mall-type restaurants within a very short drive. The people at the check-in desk can point you there. We dined at a place called Regina's Restaurant which is not far from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and the food was outstanding.

There are plenty of typical shopping mall-type restaurants within a very short drive. The people at the check-in desk can point you there. We dined at a place called Regina's Restaurant which is not far from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and the food was outstanding.

The Hampton Inn was surprisingly comfortable. The hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, the ... furniture was in good condition and the amenities were all there. They have easy internet access, both hardwired and WiFi. There was room for improvement though; there was a large melted spot on the floor of the room I was in - in the shape of the iron they provided and there were loose tiles in the bathroom. The room was quiet and although the nearby freeway was easily visible through the room window, the noise didn?t penetrate at all. It would have been nice to have a restaurant closer (the closest being more than a mile distant and across several busy streets) and room service would be a nice improvement but I would stay there again.
