The Mariner is the closest motor lodge to the sand shores and dunes of Cape Cod's Sea Gull Beach and the green fairways of Bayberry Hills Golf Course... An easy walk to excellent restaurants, shopping and amusements... A short drive to Hyannis and Barnstable Harbors which offer whale watching tours, fishing excursions, and boat trips to the historic "whaling island" of Nantucket and the "celebrity island gathering" of Martha's Vineyard... And the myriad of things that make Cape Cod the destination spot of Olde New England. The Mariner is a family owned and operated motor lodge. It takes things personally so service comes first at the Mariner. Its friendly staff will insure that your visit to the Cape is a memorable one. **** The hotel is a 100% non-smoking environment*** Requests for smoking rooms can not be accomodated.

Disappointed

Bathroom was so small that it was difficult to dry off. No exhaust fan so it was like being in a sauna. Pillows hard as rocks. Basically, this motel is in dire need of a facelift. The closest restaurant, Molly's Pub, was horrible. The bright spot was the motel employees who were friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean. After travelling up and down the Cape during my trip, West Yarmouth would not be my first choice (or 2nd or 3rd) to stay again, regardless of motel.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If visiting Martha's Vineyard, by all means buy the $7 all day bus pass to travel between towns. Easy and inexpensive; everyone is helpful. The least expensive way to MV and Nantucket are not necessarily worth the savings. Depends on how much time you have.

Cape Weekend

We were returning to the Cape after an absence of over a year. It was part nostalgia, part Mother's Day getaway. We returned to familiar places and overall had a lovely weekend.

great business amenities

The location of the hotel can be found easily. The room is very clean but the bath sink is separated from the bathroom. There was noise from the swimming pool and outside the room. The staffs are friendly and helpful. In general, we were satisfied with the services offered by this hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There was a cafe across the street for breakfast and there were enough parking space for customers. The chlorine in the swimming pool was too strong, the minute you walked into the door, you can smell everywhere.

Comfortable and Quiet......

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, selpt better than usual, they have pool and jacuzzi hours just for adults only which was nice to see, pool and jacuzzi was clean and just the right temperature. Coffee anytime, the only complaint was that they had muffins in the morning but only served until 9:30, for some of the guests that slept late, I think they could have offered the contenental breakfast until at least 11:00 in the morning.

Very family friendly

The Mariner Motor Lodge was a very good value. It was not upscale but it was quite adequate. The only food available on the premises is a breakfast coffee area which has very reasanable prices for bagels, muffins, coffee (free refills!), fruit platters, etc. The servers at the breakfast area were extremely friendly and helpful. There are two pools located at the lodge. The indoor pool is located adjacent to the lobby and the smell of chlorine was overwhelming. My daughter swam in it one morning and while it was very clean the chlorine level was quite high. We didn't have a chance to swim in the outdoor pool but it was very clean. There is also a small minature golf course that is fun and complimentary. We had a room with two double beds, table and two chairs. Again, the accomodations were adequate, the sink area was separate from the toilet and bath which was helpful since there were 4 of us sharing the room. Wireless internet was available but only accessible from the coffee room or indoor pool area - there were also two computer monitors available in another room. The lodge location was good - there were plenty of restaurants and shopping areas nearby.

Right down the street was a great shopping area that had a huge clearance sweatshirt/t-shirt store and a yummy ice cream shack!
