Stay less than two miles from Hyannis, in the heart of Cape Cod, and save a little on lodging while still having easy access to harbor cruises, walking and biking paths, beaches, golf, horseback riding and shopping. The Cape Point Hotel has enormous indoor and outdoor pools, a cabana that serves food and drinks to guests, a video game room to keep the young ones entertained and a lounge where guests can grab a drink and watch the game.

Location

The Cape Point Hotel is located on Route 28 in West Yarmouth, Mass., just two miles outside Hyannis.

Rooms

The Cape Point Hotel rooms have the ambiance of an upscale, beach condominium more so than a hotel. Traditional wood furnishings including a dresser, armoire, bedside table and a small table with chairs where guests can eat or chat. A sliding glass door provides lots of natural light and an opportunity for guests to get fresh air circulating in their room.

Book a deluxe room and have 30 percent more space and a sleep sofa and a coffee table. The executive suites have all the amenities of a standard room plus a separate room with a sleep sofa, a coffee table and a television.

Property features

Go for a leisurely swim or hang out by one of the largest indoor pools on the Cape at the Cape Point Hotel. The indoor pool's room is enormous, with a second level balcony and lounge, redwood saunas, a whirlpool and a kiddie pool. Guests can visit the upstairs lounge for a drink and to catch sporting events on television.

The outdoor pool offers guests a relaxing place to cool off surrounded by cushioned lounge chairs. The Cabana Bar and Grille serves snacks and drinks next to the outdoor pool.

Disappointed

The Cafe breakfast was fabulous! Nice to have a cafe on site and service was excellent. However, the hotel itself was disappointing and in need of a good cleaning and update... bath tub stained, room rug was old and need cleaning... dirty windows and sliding doors tracks were moldy...hot tub tiles were also moldy and not inviting. Towels were thin and rough. Would look elsewhere for next Cape visit.

The hotel is in a good location, but is a little outdated. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant at the hotel has a great breakfast.

Columbus Weekend Getaway

This was our first time staying at the Cape Point in Yarmouth. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Morning coffee was provided in the lobby. Between the pool, café and lounge there was no need to go elsewhere on a rainy day. No problems or issues except for some noisy people walking in the hallways at night but that is not controlled by the staff. We will be back with friends to take advantage of the amenities of the Cape Point again....

Relatively basic given the price

For the price, the accommodations were relatively basic. But the indoor pool area was nice and spacious, and had a bar/restaurant located above the vicinity which was very convenient. The hotel was also very family friendly, which was great.

Not good...

It's a shame because I would have given this hotel at least 3 stars, I can deal with it being outdated a little bit and the lack of hospitality from the from front desk lady. However, I cannot deal with the housekeeper who kept trying to come in and actually did once while I was still in the room. The first time she knocked was at 8 in the morning, I was laying in bed with my husband and the housekeeper kept knocking. When I went to open the door she was getting ready to put her card in and come right it. She told me she was so confused with who was still checking out and still in so she was just checking. Seriously, how do you not have a way to check? Then she just came in again at 10 with one knock she just barge in. Horrible, horrible experience. I will not be returning!!

Great for a short stay, and make sure to try The Cafe!

First time in The Cape and had no idea where to stay. The location of this hotel is on a busy strip with many hotels, restaurants, mini golf, and ice-cream shops. If traveling with kids it is a great location. The hotel also had awesome amenities such as the pools and arcade. It is set back off the road so noise from cars on road was not an issue. The restaurant at the hotel was our favorite part about it! We had breakfast there 3/5 days of our stay and loved it! Great food and low prices! The staff at the hotel were great as well! We would stay there again if we were doing a weekend get-away but for an extended stay if you are up in the air about renting a hotel or house, we are going to go the house route next time. Our only real complaint was that the room could have been a little cleaner but is was not bad enough to make us leave. Hope this helps!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Yarmouth House was excellent if you are looking for a fancy restaurant. The Lobster Boat was wonderful too and had a great variety of meals with average prices.
