Great College Visit base camp
The Marriott Courtyard on Winter Street in Waltham,Mass. was excellent. Everything from the room to the wonderful people staffing the barista where I and my family got breakfast were outstanding. The location was good for us because we needed to be close to the university we were visiting. We were 15-minutes from the school and nine miles from Boston. The only down side was the construction being performed on Route I-95 it was literally right outside the Marriott Courtyard. The courtyard staff couldn't control the construction work. I would recommend this Marriott Court Yard to anyone.

We rate it 3.5 out of 5.
Stayed two nights, attended a family function in Maine and returned for another three nights. Both rooms (506 & 419) were clean and quiet. The king bed on the fifth floor for the two night stay was too soft for my back. The fourth floor king bed was a little firmer and provided better support. Pillows in both rooms were a combination of down feather style and a firmer man-made style. Free wi-fi and each room had a refrigerator larger size (perhaps a 37" or 40" ???) LCD HDTV. Fifth floor room also had a microwave oven. This hotel has a bistro by the lobby that is open in the morning & late afternoon to mid-evening hours. The bistro offers standard breakfast items, plus fruit and a few other healthier choices. For later in the day, hot & cold sandwiches, soups and a few other items are served. Limited alcohol of wine, beer & a few specialty drinks is available as well. There is complimentary coffee near the business center, but I found it is hit and miss in taste and flavor (mostly miss being very bitter). Fortunately the bistro serves Starbucks coffee as well as other coffee house offerings and I found there coffee equal in quality and flavor similar to a coffee house. The hotel offers a small 24 hour market with a small selection of food and beverages. There's a large outdoor seating area with umbrella tables and a fire pit, but a compressed time schedule didn't allow us to relax in this area. The location just off from I-95 is fairly easy access, even with area road construction on the bridge. There are many hotel choices in this area. I chose this location based on research, reviews and primarily for no bed bug reports. The Naked Fish restaurant is about 1/2 mile away on the same side of the road, but I didn't see any other places to eat that are in the vicinity. My wife's cousins stayed 1/2 mile away from us on the other side of I-95 at the Embassy Suites. They were satisifed with their room and stated the included breakfast was good in quality and taste. Overall we were satisified with our stay, however the price we paid for the three night stay was more expensive than the other nearby hotels. I would stay here again, but would also consider the Embassy Suites and the Westin as well.

Nice modern decor
NIce hotel, it had modern style furnishings in the lobby and nice facilities. I really liked the patio with the fire pit. Construction nearby made it confusing when getting off exit.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Boston/Cambridge is a short 15 minute drive away. If you straight into Boston from hotel you will have to pay toll twice. Going thru Cambridge bypassed the tolls. Just plug in a Cambridge address and enter Boston just across the river from there.

Wonderful accomodations !
Upon arrival we were greeted like old friends and the check-in time was rapid. The lobby area was modern and inviting and all the staff were very courteous. Our room was clean, spacious and modern with a wonderfully comfortable King size bed just like at home ! We were very impressed and pleased with our choice.

Under construction--computer room used as breakfast room, a little crowded & no protein (eggs) served. Fitness room--OK. Previous week--stayed at a 5* hotel, full breakfast, etc.

Clean bright hotel with a friendly staff
Overall my experience was very good. The lounge area was closed because of a Bartender shortage, also room service with food would have been nice. The hotel was bright and cheery and the staff was excellent, very helpful and pleasant. The location was very convenient.
