The Good and the (mostly) bad
This hotel was a great price and that's why we booked it. Based on the price, we didn't expect a fantastic hotel. However, we would expect the hotel to be clean. My friends and I had to go to the local drug store to buy lysol and clorox wipes to
clean the toilet, tub, and sink. There was hair everywhere from the previous guests, hardly any towels, and dirt rings in the tub. When we saw a cleaning lady in the hall and asked for more towels, she was rude and told us to go to the front desk. The hotel smelled of smoke also.
However, there is a continental breakfast that wasn't too scary and the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They offered to give us suggestions on places to go and eat, and even print out driving directions for us.

Brimfield Antique Week
Pleasant and attractive staff. A little difficult to get to, but a nice room with fridge and living area. We were in the area for Brimfield Antiue week and this was the closest descent room we could find. Would stay again even though the broken
Ice Machine was a pain in the butt.

Quality Inn --> Travelodge; a good value
We were there for craft days at Old Sturbridge village. The hotel as of Oct 09 is under new management, but the staff is very friendly and very helpful. I think maintenance suffered under Quality Inn, and the new owners are working to get
things up to par. Our room was clean and quiet. The continental breakfast is pretty sparse, so plan on going out if you want a real breakfast. The hotel is 2-3 miles outside Sturbridge and you can't walk to any restaurants.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
Sturbridge has a shopping mall on Route 20. Big mall with the an Applebee's and an Uno restaurant. Good shopping choices: WalMart, Shop Rite, ... great place to pick up anything you forgot for the trip.

never again
This was probably one of the worst experiences we have had. When we arrived there were signs posted throughout the premises alerting you to contaminated water problems. Do not drink the water, while bathing do not get the water in your mouth, do
not brush your teeth with the water use bottled water there was none supplied. We will not use Travel Lodge again ever.
