Very Nice Place

This is a historic building, so there really aren't any amenities to speak of. Rooms are a nice size with comfortable beds and large clean bathrooms. Very quaint, maybe not ideal for a business traveler. Breakfast was outstanding, best I've seen in a long time. If I were staying in Salem on personal time, I would begin by booking here because the location is right on.

Salem Inn

It was very friendly and pleasant environment in this hotel. All staff was efficient and nice. I felt home, and very comfortable home. Though there were many tourists in the city, and many guests in the inn, everybody was attentively served.

Disappointing historic inn

For the price, we found the hotel disappointing. On the plus side, the location is perfect for seeing historic Salem and the houses the inn owns are beautiful. Breakfast was fine and the woman who works in the breakfast rooms was lovely. Our room on the third floor of Curwin (sp?) House was very large. However, it was furnished in a rather slapdash manner and had no design finesse at all (lots of blond oak popular in the 1970s). The pillows were flat as pancakes; the internet was erratic and did not work on my cell; and the thermostat could not be controlled so our room was always overly cold. I will look for someplace else next time I am in Salem.

QUAINT STAY

If you are looking for a place close to The Salem Witch Trial activities this place is perfect. The hotel keeps the look from an earlier time period.

very nice

The room was clean. Tv was in a nook but it was fine. Breakfest was hearty(alot of bread). It was great to be able to come and go. Very convenient to all the restaurants. I would stay again.

Fantastic Historic Inn

Great location for exploring historic Salem. We parked our car the day we arrived and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to see. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the dining area was beautiful with exposed brick walls and antique furnishings. We would definitely stay at the Salem Inn again.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are looking for a Ghost Walk, I would definitely recommend Spellbound Tours. Our guide, Mike, was very entertaining and knowledgeable, both about the haunted past of the historic buildings and about recommendations for places to eat, shop and visit in present-day Salem.

Just what we needed

We picked this hotel to be near the historical part of Salem so we could walk and explore the town easier. The Inn gave this to us and more. It was bright and clean and had that historical feel to it. I would definatly go back.

You must take the nightly Ghost tour, not just for the "ghosts" but the tour guide was amazing and very entertaining.

Salem Inn

The Salem Inn is a charming departure from chain hotels. The rooms are well appointed and give you a sense that you are back in the 18th century - with modern conveniences.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

The Salem Inn is actually three different buildings all within walking distance of one another. When booking it is good to find out which one you are in as they are on different streets - many of which are one way. The exact building is helpful in programming your GPS.
