The place was nice but the staff left a bit to be desired. I felt a bit like an intrusion on his time and he really didnt speak to us much. But the location and breakfast and room were nice.

Beautiful Inn, Perfect Location
The Beaconlight Guest House was a delight! The Innkeepers were friendly when appropriate - and hands off when not. We've stayed at quite a few inns in Provincetown and were very happy with our stay.

very clean but not very welcoming
Location was great. Room was very small but cute and very clean. The breakfasts were unimpressive- some granola and fat free yogurts, packaged granola bars, tea, coffee, OJ (not fresh squeezed). Better to skip it and pay for something good at Cafe Heaven (which has amazing breakfast and is only a short walk from the hotel). Hot tub on patio was small but clean. Unfortunately, the hosts are either shy or unfriendly or a little neurotic (hard to tell which is the most accurate)... they did not make us feel welcome. We spent a few hours on a rainy day sitting at the table in the kitchen and felt like we were in the way or unwanted... also, the main sitting room is really not set up for comfort. We felt like we were not supposed to be sitting in it. I will not be returning to this B&B. For that kind of money I want to feel comfortable and welcomed.

Beaconlight Guest House
We only stopped in Provincetown for 1 night just to do some general sightseeing. The Beaconlight Guest House was w/in a very short walking distance of all the shops, bars, and restaurants in Provincetown so the location can't be beat. Our room, which included a private bathroom, was a bit small and a bit outdated (small TV w/ a VCR, no internet connection), but overall was comfortable. The proprietors and staff answered all our questions and demonstrated a committment to customer service.

The hotel was super cute and in a great location. Our room was on the small-size, but very nice and clean. We enjoyed multiple deck spaces as well as the homemade croissants in the morning!

Home away from home
My partner and I needed a quick getaway. Literally the best place we have ever stayed in Provincetown. The Beaconlight staff were so cordial and inviting and we enjoyed the "personal touch" of owner/operators.

Very clean and convenient place to stay
The Beaconlight was very clean and in a great location. [...] was very friendly and helpful, but [...] less so. He just seemed a little crabby and somewhat indifferent to our presence there. The cleaning/breakfast staff were very nice. The breakfast included a lot of variety and some tasty pastries. We didn't take advantage of the upper decks, but the back patio was really nice for breakfast. The room was quite small, but had everything we needed. We are not big TV watchers and we didn't plan to spend much time in the room anyhow, so no big deal. I would recommend this place and stay there again if I got another reduced rate. [...]

The restaurant is EDWIGE. Very delicious food and wonderful service. Try the Brazilian moqueca. We had a wonderful wine recommendation from our server as well. Don't miss it!

Reprehensible Service
This is the first review I have ever written, because normally I do not have anything to add to past reviews. Having stayed at the Beaconlight before with the former owners I was looking forward to another great stay. We pulled up to the Beaconlight at 1:30 p.m. to see if we could check in. I walked up to the door and introduced myself and said "I am here to check in." The reply from the English guy who I later learned was one of the new owners was, and I quote "Not until after 3 you're not." I travel around 100 days a year for business/pleasure and never have I been greeted so rudely. It is normally welcome to xxxx and I am sorry but your room will not be available until xxx. This kind of greeting is unacceptable from an employee much less an owner and is inexcusable even if he was having a bad day over the Fourth of July weekend. He was not anymore friendly when I woke up early to get some ice. The other owner was pleasant and helpful when I checked in and the rest of the stay was without incident. However, the tone was set upon check in. I have stayed at other establishments in Provincetown and have never had this type of experience. I suggest that you take your business elsewhere as I will be doing.
