Basic overnight stay.

New owners trying to bring back the quality of the hotel. Needs work, but they are trying. Average value nothing special. Out of the way but near business district.

Mostly just the bad...

The pool was tiny and was right near where they kept the pets so it smelled. Unless you like animals. The dishwasher was broken the entire time. We called the first day but it was never repaired during our stay. We stayed here even though it was only for 3 nights instead of an actual extended stay (which is what the place is). Its too bad they didn't have houseskeeping daily for people staying less than the extended 'norm'. The daily breakfast had bagels, muffins, apples and oranges... and that was pretty much IT foodwise. There was OJ, AJ, coffee, and hot water to drink. The hallways smelled terribly. Only good things? The front desk staff were extremely nice, answered our questions and had pre-printed directions to the T train and closest grocery store. Also had a schedule for the train. And we were not disturbed at ALL in our room. The rooms didn't smell (just the hallway).

Disappointing

Cigaret smell in hall of non-smoking floor. Smoke detector in room hanging from ceiling by wires. Hair ball on mattress pad of pull out couch. Blinket in room for pull out couch too thin.

Nice accomidation, difficult to find

The room was clean with plenty of space. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with giving directions. The hotel was difficult to find as it was located at the end of a dead end road. Our first evening after going for dinner, we had a great deal of difficulty finding our way back. If not for a local police officer we would have never found the hotel again. The staff was very helpful when I called to get directions.

Snug room

We found this hotel on-line and used it for one night. It's at the end of a dead-end road with office buildings; on a weekend the area is deserted. The room was very snug - one chair at the kitchen work area (for computers or dining) could not be used easily since there was no room to get into it. There was little spare room along either side of the queen bed. The indoor pool was COLD. It should be heated, and a hot tub would be appreciated. The hotel provides a continental breakfast except on Sundays, so there was only coffee and juice in the morning of our stay - not even milk for the coffee. With no grocery stores or restaurants within three miles, this was a definite problem. There is a full kitchen with cooking implements. The 'pantry' has vending machines for cold beverages and snacks only. A means to obtain groceries, possibly a delivery service, would be useful - competing hotels like Embassy Suites have microwave meals and a limited selection of real groceries as well.

Not bad, but in an industrial park area.

The hotel was an older one, but in good condition. It was located in a business park area, which was mainly research companies, so it was quiet. It was a little difficult to find, although you can see it from the Expressway.

Not Horrible, but not great

We spent the weekend to visit with family from Salem, MA & Gilford, NH. There was the odor of dirty diapers & cigarette smoke in our non smoking room. The room was smaller than we anticipated but not unworkable. However, the kitchen was supposed to come fully equiped and was not. There was only 1 glass, 1 small size pan, random (& small counts) of plates, bowls, mugs, & silverware. The bathroom & kitchen we not clean. Cabinets dirty & sticky as well as counters, toilet, tub & shower. I had to buy cleaning supplies & air freshener. Not to mention it's not easy to get to. It's down several roads in an industrial park at the VERY end. It's like a maze just to reach a main road.

If your going to do the tourist thing in Salem, don't stay here. We spent so much time driving to get the the area in Salem. It is definitely worth the extra money to stay closer to the action.
