conference

I attended a conference held at this hotel and found all of the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The beds are especially comfortable. The only problem that I had was that My "Mac" computer did not work with the system in the room.

Not again

Hotel staff was extremely courteous. We had requested 2 queen beds and they only had one king bed and a pull out single sleeper couch available when we checked in. The pool was under renovations (which was not noted on the website), so was not available for use, they did offer use of pools at other sites, but this was to inconvenient for us, making the children extremely disappointed.

Decent place to stay

In Boston for the weekend of 4/09-4/10, with the next day scheduled for Salem & Marblehead sightseeing, so a friend and I decided to stay somewhere in between, and this Peabody location seem to fit the bill. Overall, our stay was OK. Room was clean..no problem there..(mattress was too soft for me, though..seemed a little worn out..and why does this seem to be so hit & miss for a hotel??..ugh) but being it was a nice, but seasonable cool day in early April..when we first walked in our room..it seemed a little too warm, as it turns out the thermostat was broken, and despite our best efforts we could not get the room cooler than high 70s, so we decided to open the window(which had no screen) and being that this room also faced the vent stacks from the kitchen roof, there was the noise from all the fans on the roof..oh well. Frankly, by the time we noticed all of this,(checked in around 8PM)we were so tired from walking around all day in Boston..it just seemed easier to open the window and put in earplugs than to call the front desk and have a maintenance tech in our room for the next two hours.. The other thing we noticed, is that even with earplugs in, we still could hear noise through our room vent ducts(either the elevator or stuff going on in the kitchen?) half the night. So, needless to say, kind of a rough night sleep wise!.. When I explained this the next morning, after having been asked how our stay was, the front desk staff offered to give us a 2 for one breakfast, for the buffet, so I thought that was fair. The food was very good and the staff was attentive and professional.

extremely comfortable bed,quiet room.

I stayed during an extremely cold weekend and found the room very warm and comfortable and the food at the hotel was great. I would like to see two cups of coffee in the room coffee maker set. Other than the coffee thing which wasn't really important, the stay was perfect! My stay was for a banquet for a support group that I belong to. To me, the thing I look forward to most at this hotel is the bed, it's "the best"!

Good value

Excellent front-desk staff; check-in was very easy and extra cot was brought up to room within 10 minutes of check-in. Staff was also very helpful in retreiving item that had been misplaced in room. Plan on staying there again on next trip.

Nice hotel very close to Salem village

We stayed here to go to Salem during Halloween weekend. The staff was awesome, just what you expect from a Marriott. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. We had a room on the first floor with the parking lot right outside. Not too fun. Would reccommend asking for a higher floor next time. Very good food in restaurant and great service.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

You can find parking at the Depot station in Salem village and on Sat and Sun it's free. Follow directions into town of Salem that the front desk will give you. Don't go to the blinking light to Winter st...make left turn into parking lot at the depot under the tracks from Bridge st. Pay for spot at Muni meter....bring singles....much cheaper and closer to town than many other lots.

The good, The bad and The GROSS

This is the Motel 8 of Marriott hotels. By far the worst location I've stayed at next to a motel. ROOM:*The bed throw had what one can only assume was dried male genetic material. *The clock had dust on it- so I can only wonder how long the pair of underwear had been laying on the closet floor before my horrified eyes found them. POOL:*Too much chlorine, anything more than 1/2 hr and you'll need a respirator. *Painted cement floors that are constantly wet are an obvious hazard, am surprised a "four star" hotel would not have thought of that - should be no-slip turf. A slip and fall on cement floor is not just a sore tush, but a likely concussion when you bang your head on the ground. RESTAURANT DINING: Waiting 10 minutes before your able to even ask someone for a menu is not my idea of a four star dining experience.
