This is an older hotel that they have been remodeling for a few years. No real frills. Good Staff

Wonderfully located to all of the shops, restaurants and the Whaling Museum, the Jared Coffin house is sure to please. The Inn is an easy walk from the ferry terminal and centrally located for easy walking to all of the main city sites. The staff were truly wonderful, offering maps and water to the guests and are a true asset to the inn. We also ate at the restaurant which was really very good. I had the mussels, while my husband had the steak and frites which were both excellent. I guess my only problem would be with the continental breakfast, which had unimaginative offerings and was in disarray both mornings. Having said that, I would still highly recommend staying here for a real Nantucket experience.

The whaling museum is a real gem and truly gives the feeling about the Nantucket whaling industry. Give yourself at least 2 hours and try to catch the excellent film Nantucket, which is new to the museum. You can go online and find out the times it is playing on the day of your visit.

Friendly personal, but I couldn't check in early. they did offer to hold my bag and offer me could bottled water for walking around with. The only problem was that the room didn't have airconditioning which would have been OK if they would have opened the window and turned on the fan before I accessed my room. Instead when I got back from biking and could finally go to my room I found it very hot and it took a very long time to cool down.

Great and not expensive!
We only stayed one night as our island home needed some organizing after, well .. it's a long story. The hotel is very charming and historic, the staff were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The room was updated Nantucket classic with all the necessary ammenities. The JC is right downtown, near everything, and a great value.

very friendly service
it is not a good weather when we arrived the island,but the hotel is good and comfortable. We enjoyed the very comfortable and high traditional american bed!The breakfast is good.Because the bad weather, all ferry have to be canceled the next day,we have no idea how to do. But we must return to Boston because the vacation time limitation. The staff there are very kindly and helpful.She helped us to call the island airport and arranged the time and cab, she told us relaxed and enjoy the time staying in nantucket. So we really enjoyed the limited time to see the beautiful lighthouse and had a delicious lunch there. It is an unforgetable holiday! I think the hotel is very good and I really appreciate their warmth and kindness.

Extraordinary service in Nantucket town
Biked to the beach every day; [...] was extremely kind and upgraded us to a larger room because she felt the room we booked was "too stuffy" - at no extra charge to us. All staff were very helpful and always greeted us with a warm "hello." Everyone was very helpful - from making dinner reservations to assisting us with our luggage.

Better than advertised
Everything was better than advetised all rooms have their own bathroom and shower. Off street parking was also available. Just a perfect place. Staff was really 1st class
