wonderful facility

Would recommend Wed, May 4, 2011
The hotel was quite clean and fresh - what a nice change of pace from the old standards. There was plenty of room for two or three to be using the mirror and sinks and the shower head was actually above our heads! the beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The children simply thought it was cool with the neon and all.

Trendy yet reasonable!

Would recommend Mon, Mar 7, 2011
From the outside, this property looked like a college dormitory, but I was astounded when I entered the lobby. It's super trendy, yet kick-back comfy, and set up for anyone--from the business traveler who needs a Wi-Fi and plug-in to the couple craving a drink at the bar. There's even a pool table for the kids and a mini-food store with everything from pop-tarts to espressos. The swimming pool is small, but my kids loved it nonethelss. I enjoyed the gym, complete with state-of-the art stationary bikes and treadmills, plus a benchpress, free weights, and other strength machines. The room was perfect with a very comfortable bed and absolutely SPOTLESS bathroom. This was my first time at an ALOFT, but it won't be my last!

Attractions

Plan on wearing hiking boots or comfortable sneakers to get the most out of visiting Lexington and Concord. Better yet...if you're a biker, bring it along. You can pedal from the hotel to Lexington and back in one day, and vice versa to Concord, the next. Check distances first, but I believe the one-way trip from Concord to Lexington is approximately 12 miles, and the hotel is located between the two (but closer to Lexington).

Great hotel for a 20 something's weekend

Would recommend Fri, Nov 19, 2010
Aloft is in a very convenient location to explore the wonderful towns of Lexington and Concord and the take the T into Boston. The receptionist couldn't have been friendlier and was very helpful in finding good little eateries in the area. There were two queen beds in our room, which was perfect and something that is unfortunately getting harder to find nowadays. The pool was very nice, albeit small. If you've never swum in a saline pool before, be warned, bring water with you. You'll dehydrate faster than in a chlorine pool, but you won't smell like bleach afterwards. The only thing the hotel lacked was a suitable study area outside of the room, as there is music playing in all of the common areas. Great atmosphere, great personnel, and a great location makes aloft a hotel to return to.

Dining

Drive to the ailwife station at the end of the T's red line, it's only 10 minutes away and it'll take you right into Cambridge. While there, make sure to stop at Burdick chocolates. They have the absolute best chocolate you could ever taste, either in cocoa form or in their delectable little sweets. Be warned, you will pay for the excellence, but it is more than worth it.

A-buzzed

My friend and I had tickets to see some theater in the Boston area. We stayed one Saturday night at Aloft. We found the location to be very convenient, both for our driving down from the north and to our event in Boston itself. The price for the room was comparable to every other location we scouted on line. We were attracted to the "high tech," and "bright and airy." It was certainly both of those things. However, The lounge was just down the hall from the rooms, separated by a thick glass door. There were young people in the lounge, drinking and partying until well after 2 in the morning. The "party" spilled over into the guest locations, and the excessive revelling until the wee hours made for a sleepless night... In the morning, the hallway was a shambles: there was garbage and food all over the carpeting, and it remained there for several hours before the staff cleaned it up. It felt like a college frat house: drunk guests loitering in the hallways...The showers were wimpy and the dispensers leaked to the shower floor. This might have started out as a good idea, and sounded attractive on line and kind of an adventure, but we would not stay there again. I think next time we'll stay at the Four Seasons....

Low Safety Standards

Would not recommend Sun, Jul 4, 2010
Beware: my boyfriend's computer was stolen at this hotel. He accidentally left it in the room, and when we called to locate it after we checked out the hotel staff would not take any responsibility or even investigate the issue. Also, the pictures online are deceptive. In reality, the hotel pool is tiny, and they overcharge for bad food (there is no complimentary breakfast). Three dollars for a stale corn muffin is too much.
