Howard Johnson Express Inn - Lenox

This was not a bad place to stay but offers nothing special other than a convenient location and a clean room all run by friendly people. There was certainly nothing luxurious about the place but I would recommend it if you were looking for a place that was priced well and you got what you paid for. Only thing that did not impress us was the town itself - very quaint, old style, small specialty & gift shops, museums etc. but in old town style - walking was required. Also, it definitely was not a "peak, seasonal season because the sidewalks rolled up after 6 -hard to find suitable eating establishments open late.

The rooms were dirty and had a bad odor. The breakfast has horrible and we actually got yelled at by the manager for not knowing how to use the waffle maker. The manager was very rude at all times and he shouldn't be in customer service!! Poor overall experience!

The small staff at the hotel/motel were lovely. Continental breakfast was adequate, but there was not enough seating for a crowd. The room was a bit cramped and needs updating. The beds were very comfortable, but the air conditioning was a bit dicey. It was certainly adequate for a short stay and was very close to downtown Lenox and Tanglewood. Route 7/20 is a good access road to Berkshire towns. Try Panda, a nice Chinese restaurant just south of the hotel. The place stayed erect during Hurricane Irene, and that's a plus! D & B from NYC

Good size room with kitchen and private beach. Quiet and comfortable.

We were here for two nights. It was centrally located for what we did. We visited Norman Rockwell Museum, and visited other little towns around. The pool was very convenient for our daily exercise program. It was a little difficult getting two large suitcases up a flight stairs. The breakfast was very minimal. No fruit, no eggs.

The main room was clean and comfortable but the bath shower curtain has mold and the towels were thread bare or had holes in them.

Affordable, clean, and conveniently situated on the main thoroughfare. Whoosh go the trucks. Easy drive to Old Town Lenox, Stockbridge, Tanglewood, and Edith Wharton's house. Near Chocolate Springs (heavenly). A twenty minute drive to Great Barrington (but oh, so worth it). Skip the free breakfast-it's sparse and gloomy. If you must dine in, remember coffee's up at 7 am, not 6:45. Check in is at 2 pm, not 1 pm, as advertised by travel site. Far more spacious, and seemingly cleaner, than EconoHut.

This is my fourth trip to Lenox and also fourth stay at Howard Johnson,Lenox,MA. This was my Business trip and I got Room #208 Which was Clean Spacious well maintained and Wi-Fi INTERNET worked FAST!!!!Bed was comfortable and place was Quite also they have Coffee maker in room so I worked late Night without any disturbance.Bathroom was clean.During check in time I got coupon for Tex-MEX Restaurant. I must recommend this place for Business People.

What a GR8 DEAL!!!!!! We had Non Smoking Two Queen Beds ...Room was Spacious,Clean,Nice at least two adults & Two Children can stay easily. All amenities like Microwave, Refrigerator,Coffee Maker,Cable with HBO. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom was Nice & Clean with Hot Water. Internet was working as High Speed because we watched Movie online in Night.... Over all It was GR8 Holiday Vacation for us... I must recommend this place for Family Vacation.

Lovely area of the country, hotel was clean and staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very convenient to our family wedding we had to attend. Lots of little shops and places to go during down time. Great value.
