As a family, we always try to find a place to stay that unique to the area. A chain hotel doesn't really qualify, but it has restored my faith in them! Really clean and well designed. Also desperately needed a washer/dryer to catch up on family
laundry , and they had that as well.
Needed shelter from the storm and access to the University
Got both the and staff was aces. We had a great stay. typical of the Marriott chain. Found a deal on the smart phone in the parking lot.. Rooms were great with a handy bar in the lobby. They even cleaned off the snow from the car? Who does that?
Close to whatever you need in Hadley Amherst. Ma. Including Zoe's restaurant. down the street.
Overall very good. I had to ask for a cable to connect to the ethernet and then ask again for the password. Suggest staff be trained to offer both of these things to everyone. Also, hotel said there was a problem with my credit card that was an
error on the part of Orbitz and they said it happens all the time. Also it was a bit noisy -- kids running upstairs but that ended at about 9 pm. Only mildly inconvenient however.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The cost was high for me ($179++). I don't know what the regular rate is but I intend to look it up to ascertain how much of a discount I got with Orbitz.
Unnecessary midnight visit to my room from an unidentified staff person threatening me and my wife if we didn't curtail our normal conversation. Not excessively loud at all. Then, no remorse from the staff the next morning. Inexcusable!
My wife and I have stayed at this place a number of times when we needed an overnight place near Amherst. It's a perfect upper 3-star hotel. Not a lot of frills, but comfortable beds, quiet, and great bathrooms.
