Just Ok

We chose the hotel because it was one of only a few available for the weekend we were going to be there. The other hotels had ridiculously high prices (verging on gouging) so we chose the Motel 6. The hotel was cheaper than the others, but even with the price we paid, I would've expected a bit more. The rooms were bare bones with the smallest tv I've seen since the 80's. The lighting was terrible. The elevator was sketchy. Paying for WiFi seemed a bit excessive. They could've at least offered it for free. They didn't even provide little shampoo bottles. I'm glad I had my own. There was no little coffee maker and in the mornings, they only offered coffee in the lobby. There were no decaf or tea options. We didn't use the pool, but it looked decent enough. The one thing that I loved was the shower. The water pressure was fantastic. The staff was also very friendly. All in all, I felt that it was overpriced for what they offer, even if it was the cheapest place around. They should invest in some new tv's and do some minor cosmetic fixes to the decor. A little bit goes a long way.

Okay for an inexpensive place to stay for a couple nights

I was thankful to have a fairly inexpensive place to stay so I could enjoy the Salem area around October. The room was ok and basically, it was just a place to sleep and put our things. Nothing more -- so for the price and timing -- it worked. The hallway smelled of smoke and alot like sulpher in the late morning. It wasn't the worst I've seen but don't expect much more then a place to sleep for the night. I've stayed at other Motel 6 hotels before and it was a better experience as far as cleanliness and feel compared to this one.

Thank god for a refund

We had reserved a non-smoking room and when we got to our room it smelled of smoke and the blankets were riddled with cigarette burns. Not to mention we had to call down to the front desk at leat 4 times to complain about the people next to us having loud encounters in the middle of the night while we had kids with us. Awful experience at this hotel.

Motel 6 review

For all of you readers who are looking for an information about this hotel: 1. The price is good and so is the room cleanliness. 2. Motel is located on US1 and all you have to do to get to Boston is turn right on the hwy and you are there in 30 minutes after paying toll on the bridge. 3. Motel does not have iron, coffe maker, or shampoo but does provide you with plenty of towels and a bar of soap.

Good for the money

This motel was cheap and good. Pros: not too far from Boston, good beds, big room, nice staff. Cons, thin walls, clearly been smoked in (non-smoking room).

if you're looking for a cheap place, it'll do

first of all, once we turned in to the parking lot, we weren't sure if this was a motel 6 or not. after verfiying it was, we were okay. we sensed someone had smoked in our non smoking room... NOT GOOD. however after the first night, we were all good. the tv is below average, and having to pay $2.99 per night for wifi is a joke. however, we came to MASS. to drop our daughter off in Wellesley. we also visited boston a couple of days. so the location was perfect. the price was cheaper than anywhere else. nothing fancy, the room was clean, shower pressure was weak, but thats motel 6. overall, i am satisfied. when we return, i am pretty sure we'll check in again.
