More than satisfactory

Clean and quiet. There were some noisy guests in the next room but management dealt with it very well and very quickly and the rest of my stay was perfect.

Decent option for North Shore

In comparison to many of the "hotels" in the Route 1 corridor, which cater, in part, to the welfare underclass, the Comfort Inn is patronized and populated by normal people. Yet it is relatively inexpensive. Thus, it is a good option for travelers to the North Shore, and is especially convenient to Danvers. It is basic, somewhat Spartan, but decent.

It's All Good!!!

Not a bad thing to say about my stay. The staff was great with helping me decide on outings for my vacation. The room was kept clean. Quiet, did not hear a thing from neighbors or the outside. Just loved it.

Good value

I stayed over the Xmas holiday, visiting family in the area. The room was quiet and comfortable, but average. If you know your way around, the location is pretty good--far more convenient than places on Route 1 or along Route 128.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Danvers now has two decent downtown restaurants. Try Nine Elm.

Basic, not that overpriced

I got a good night's sleep, in a hotel that passed my bedbug check (It has added bedbug covers to mattresses and box springs since my last visit.), and was comfy enough overall. Unlike "competitor" hotels on Route 1, it has a normal-person clientele, not a welfare-agency "clientele." Prices have increased (unjustifiably), but it is still not too bad a gouge by local standards.

Decent, not too overpriced

The on-demand media feature on the TV in my room did not work. The toilet tank stuck in the "open" position, flowing endlessly. The bathtub hardly drained. There was no tissue dispenser in the room. Most of the clothes hangers were beat-up and unusable. There was no "do not disturb" placard in the room. Compared to the Route 1 hotels, however, most of which are overrun with welfare-agency clientele, it is at least quasi-decent, and the price isn't too bad, although it has gone up significantly in the past year. At least the patrons are normal people. For someone looking for a decent, basic, affordable lodging, it is still the best deal in the area, sadly.

Decent Basic Accommodations

The hotel is one of the better values in the Salem/Danvers area--far better than the dubious places on Route 1, for example. The room did not have a "Menu" of pay-per-view video options; I asked, and they said they're in the middle of a switchover, and some rooms do not have that feature--so ask if it's of value to you. Also, the headboards of the beds are screwed into the walls, so bring a Phillips screwdriver if you want to perform a standard bedbug inspection. (My room came up clean.)

Decent and well-located

Compared to the hotels on Route 1, this place is decent and safe. However, the rooms are less than spotless: there were small bits of debris in the dresser drawers that indicated they had not been fully vaccuumed since the last guest; a hangar was orphaned on a high shelf that the housekeeper didn't see; etc. Nothing major, but it may not be up to everyone's standards. Also, while they offer a free breakfast buffet, its quality is below-par: the "orange juice" dispensed from a machine was watery; the hard-boiled eggs were rubbery, etc. Nonetheless, it's far better than the frightening places along Route 1.

Spartan but decent, good prices

If I was going to stay there again, I'd make sure I got a room that does NOT have an internal interconnecting door with an adjacent room. The soundproofing at the hotel leaves something to be desired anyway, but those doors seem to let the sound seep right through. Otherwise, if you're in the Danvers area, the hotel is a lot better than the scary Route 1 places. It isn't fancy, but its clean and in a quiet location. A good value, overall.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

You can access the place via Rte. 114 by turning onto Centre Street or the other neighboring side streets between Danvers and Middleton, and sneak through the back way, if you're not into a Route 95/1 hassle.
