Thank you for salvaging my vacation

After my first motel being shut down, the second one making me physically ill, I ended up here. The only complaints I have arE: the heat wouldn't work. But, we were given a portable heater to rectify this situation. Music is also loud from the bar below, on Fri-Sat evenings. The wi-fi connection was also iffy. And when we asked for a room with a bath? They gave us one. Staff is friendly, it's clean, hospitable.

It's like staying with Grandma, if Grandma has wifi

For starters, it's a 20 minute walk from the train and the cab company charges a flat $15 anywhere in Concord, so it's a trek for us non-drivers. The hotel itself is nice but it's old and it shows. The hot water takes a while to kick in; you hear the music from the bar. The windows open though, and it's clean and friendly.

Charming Inn with a few flaws

Visiting with family. The location was terrific- could walk to rest. etc. One time, there was no hot water. Entrance to our wing from parking lot was through a door that leads to trash area of Inn- kind of nasty going through there. The inn facilities were wonderful and the staff was warm and friendly. Not all the ammenities of a newer hotel but worth the charm and history of the place.

Great Location

From the start it was apparent that the Colonial Inn was THE place to be in Concord, MA. There are several dining rooms, great food, good pub with live entertainment. The location is great, walking distance to everything. Downside: Because it is such a popular place, it is noisy and there is constant traffic outside the window. The room and the bathroom were the tiniest ever, which is o.k., because we don't spend much time in the room. Big thing was the noise. I had to take a sleeping pill to sleep through it all!

Great place for fall foliage and history

We loved being able to walk to several historical sites and museums right from the inn's front door. Marvelous for Fall foliage, walks around Walden Pond, sites of reveolutionary battles, homes and resting places of literary figures - what an amazing spot. Pretty inn with fine food and lodging. We had a restful, healthy and interesting respite. Don't miss the Last Minute Men in the bar on Wednesdays.

A Nightmare

We were very dissapointed. The concord colonial inn was not what we expected. It is definately a hotel - not at all a bed & breakfast. It caters to mostly buisness people - with meeting rooms & lodging & dining & live music most of the night playing in the bar downstairs for them. Not at all a comfortable or relaxing enviornment! Our room was on the third floor (mind you, there is no elevator) and most of the rooms in this hotel are in a section built in the 1970's (not the 1700's!).Maybe the few rooms that were in the main part of the hotel were nice- but ours was barely average - nothing special. The air conditioner & bathroom were definately from the 1970's! Outdoors - they made a square in the middle of the parking lot with a few benches to sit on. If you call sitting amongst the cars relaxing - you'll like this place! Also, the complimentary morning newspaper was non-exsistent - we were lucky to get a hello out of the front desk person when we passed. The cherry on the cake was returning home from our stay to find a hold was placed on my checking account by the hotel (without my knowledge) for $165.00.When I called the hotel to tell them that due to this hold I incurred $115.00 in charges from my bank they told me there was nothing they could do. (By the way - the breakfast that was included when I paid for my stay was not really free - there was a limit on it - they are so money hungry that they waited for us outside the dining room to let us know that we owed them 20CENTS!) I truly regret that I didn't go with my first choice which was the Hawthorne Inn. It looked a lot more inviting and relaxing than the colonial inn.

Very quiet and quaint town.

I booked this hotel because we wanted to visit the historical areas around Boston and not pay an enormous fee per night for a room. This hotel fit into our budget and it was right in Concord, Mass. We could walk to anything we wanted to see in Concord. It was also convenient to the train that we took into Boston which saved us quite a bit of money and hassle. The town is very quiet and most everything is closed by 5:00p.m. so if you are looking for a place that has some nightlife don't stay in Concord. The hotel is old and it has been added onto so it's kind of a maze to get around but after a couple of days you learn where things are. The staff is very accomodating and pleasant. We smoke but you can't smoke in any public building in Massachusetts which we didn't know when we booked the hotel because we were offered a smoking room but when we got to the hotel we were told that the building was all non-smoking. So if you're a smoker I would suggest that you call a hotel first and ask about their smoking laws or find a hotel that has a balcony because you can't trust the internet booking site to provide you with correct information. Another little helpful tip, take your own mosquito repellant. The hotel has a little garden/patio in the back but there are a lot of mosquitos!

Great location

The Concord Colonial Inn is very quaint. It is within walking distance to many shops and eateries. The room we had was small, especially the bathroom. There was a queen bed, luggage stand, dresser, closet with many hangars, a chair and desk. They provided coffee pot and the necessary staples along with the coffee. We stayed overnight because we attended our neices wedding. The food was very good, the service great and the whole staff is very friendly. We do plan on making a day trip back and having dinner at the Inn. However, we would not hesitate to spend another overnight.

Great location for history buffs

The Colonial Inn is ideally located in the town square at the center of historic Concord. The room was comfortable and furnished with reproduction colonial antiques. The colonial atmosphere of the tap room and dining area combine to create a pleasant dining experience.

The Mainstreets Market and Cafe, about two blocks away, is recommended for great soups, sandwiches, pastries to eat in or take out. They also have a separate ice cream shop on a lower level of the building.
