Comfort in Cambridge

The Charles provided a perfect suite for more than two people (my mother accompanied me and my companion to an afternoon Red Sox game). The ambience of the hotel was very comfortable and the hand sewn quilts were a perfect addition to the decor of the lobby and halls. We sampled the more casual of the two restauants and were a bit disappointed in the lack of a maitre d' function to greet us as we tried to enter through a collection of barflies standing at the bar. The cost of the food was more akin to the more formal dining, but good nonetheless. The availability of a spa, its facilities and Sunday morning yoga class included in the price of the hotel was a real plus. Parkintg underneath the hotel was also very convenient, but not included in the price.

A local farmers' market just outside the hotel on a Sunday was something we noticed as we were leaving. I wish we would have known about it earlier

The Harvard Review

Location is next to Harvard University and is very popular for the college crowd. Many stores, bars and restaurants available and close to transportation/sight seeing tour. For the cost of staying there leaves me a little less satisfied; no coffee pot, no fan in bathroom for example. However, having a TV in the bathroom (in mirror) was a plus.

Classy on Harvard Square

This was truly the best hotel I have stayed in for many years. The room was very spacious, immaculately clean, and had wonderful views. It was well worth the cost. Every staff member I encountered was courteous, efficient, and actually seemed to enjoy her/his job. This was true of the hotel staff and restaurant (Henrietta's Table) staff. Finally, the location is marvelous - just a few blocks from the Harvard Square subway stop.

Use the valet parking. The cost is no higher than parking the car yourself in the underground garage.

Luxury and Location

Super convienient to all the attractions of Harvard Square by foot, plus easy transportation into Boston and the airport on the T. Excellent rapid valet parking service makes keeping a car possible, if expensive. However a car is not necessary to enjoy the area from the Charles. World's most comfortable beds!

Charles Hotel

Smart modern hotel with very nicely furnished rooms including comfortable beds, armchair, large LCD TV and DVD player. We liked the quiet location off Harvard Square and 2mins walk to the Charles River which was great for a jog in the morning. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. I wondered about the security given that there is a street entrance very close to the elevators to the rooms and anyone could walk in and take the elevator without passing any evident security.
