Not worth the price
I got a room next to the service elevator shaft, which had constant traffic even at night. I could hardly get any sleep. If you add to this that the AC was ridiculously small for the room, so it wasn't able to keep a comfortable temperature in teh room. This hotel is not worth what I paid for. I would not recommend this to anyone. The worst thing is that the staff told me that the fact that it was next to an elevator shaft was in the room description, when this is not mentioned at all.

Sonesta Falls Down
We checked into the hotel and were taken to a room that was on the Cambridge (traffic, noise) side of the hotel. We arrived late due to a weather delay exhausted from traveling from Colorado to Massachusetts. I said to the bellman that this was not the room I reserved. He said, "check it out in the morning" meaning, stay here tonight. He probably knew that there were no rooms on the river side. I was too travel weary to investigate immediately.I did, however, check it out in the morning, The front desk took my confirmation and went of to investigate. [...] Then she said that there were no "river view" rooms available until after checkout 12PM. We packed up our suitcases (we were there for four nights) and left to go on with our day. When we returned Friday evening our room was ready, suitcases moved and we again unpacked. The front desk manager did give us tickets for free continental breakfasts for the rest of our trip, which was a small consolation for having to repack and move. In summary, it was a half bad/half good experience.

June Weekend in Boston Area
Wonderful lobby and great location. Easy to get into downtown Boston as well as into central Cambridge area. Artbar in hotel serves a nice breakfast and you can sit outside overlooking the river. Room is clean but very simple and bathroom especially bathtub/shower was very tiny. No bathrobes in room. Clearly money was put into the lobby and not the rooms.

Relaxing stay with a great skyline view
Spent 2 nights and needed a relaxing hotel with a convenient location. The Sonesta gave me just that. Gorgeous view on Boston's skyline (ask for view rooms!), great mall just across the street, and moreover a nice fitness center. If you don't need to stay downtown, this is a nice spot.

Great stay at a great price
I always stay at the Royal Sonesta Cambridge when I am here on business. It's a great hotel. This time I decided to stay here for a mini getaway. I got a great deal [...] Orbitz with free parking included. The hotel is in a great location, near two different T stops. Plus they've got a great pool and nice gym. The people who work there are very friendly (and I've noticed that many of them are the same people over the last four years). Bed is very comfortable. If you're by the elevator, the noise can be a bit annoying as you hear a lot of ringing every few minutes, so ask to be away from the elevator. The bar is nice. I love in the summer that they have free bikes you can use, free ice cream, and free boat rides on the river. Plus you can jog along the river as the hotel is right next to it. Great views from some of the rooms. Overall, really great place to stay.

Memeorial day weekend 2010
My experience at this hotel was awful. Though it was a pretty hotel with a nice view and near some convenient stores. The hotel did not have a microwave. we traveled with our son to take him to see all the lid attractions Boston/Cambridge had to offer. However he is a picky eater and will only eat certain foods. We needed his meal warmed up, and the hotel restaurant (Art Bar) refused to heat his meal because they said it was a health code violation. I ended up having to get the car out of valet, and drive 2 miles to find a place that would heat my son's meal which would only take 35 seconds in a microwave. I finally found a place that would do it for us, yet I ended up getting a parking ticket due to the fact the ticket printing machine was not working. The hotel staff said they do not cater to children and that its more of a boutique hotel. I thought this to be outrageous because it make our stay super stressful and inconvenient. Its a relatively expensive hotel, and should at least have the option to rent a microwave for guests that need to heat foods if they are on special diets, or have children/infants. They rent cots and baby cribs, so why could they not also rent microwaves? It is a super unappealing feature for a suppose four star hotel. I will never stay in the hotel again, whether i have my son with me or not. It was a terrible experience!!
