gorgeous house
We were impressed by the size and decor of the house. Our room was quite small (the fire escape map showed we had the smallest room in the building), but it was large enough for our needs. Be aware that at least one of the rooms does NOT have its own adjoining bathroom. The staff/owners do not seem to live on the premises, so it feels more like a hotel than other B&Bs. Breakfast was served buffet-style with a selection of baked goods, fruits, and some sort of poached egg dish (the eggs had been sitting for too long, so the yolks were dry and overcooked). The house was only a couple of blocks from the green line and within walking distance to Commonwealth.

Long walk from hotel
If you feel like walking to Commonwealth, there are tons of ethnic restaurants in the area. We ate at Ariana's (Afghani), and it was outstanding.

Comfortable stay
This was the largest Bed and Breakfast I've stayed at. The room was small, but comfortable. We had nice towels and comfy bathrobes. The staff provided snacks in the common room, which was really nice. The biggest issue with this inn was the breakfast. From my experience, Bed and Breakfast Inns have phenomenal breakfasts, and the food at the Bertram was poor. On the first day we had an egg dish that was too small and cold. On the second day, the staff advertised chocolate chip pancakes, but served ricotta blueberry pancakes. They were undercooked in some spots and burnt in others. I always look forward to the breakfast at this type of in, and I was very disappointed! However, the inn was comfortable and convenient and relatively inexpensive, so if you're not looking for delicious food, then it's a good place to stay.

terrific location; would be too expensive, if not for the Xmas deal
The location (right next to Coolidge Corner, on the T line) is fantastic. The room was small but comfortable. The exhaust fan in the bathroom made a horrible racket. Some aspects of breakfast could have been nicer (the bread was stale). We got a good deal on the two nights' stay because of the timing (just before Christmas); usually, this inn is too pricey.

Very Nice
This B&B inn was charming with well appointed rooms. The breakfast was very good; one morning we were served a delicious scrambled eggs with lox, cream cheese and capers. One of the breakfast rooms is a indoor sun-room - a very comfortable and sunny room. Everything is thought of...from multiple daily newspapers to the turning down of the bed at night. I hope to stay there again.

Very nice getaway
We were met by a very nice individual who explained in detail what was available in the hotel, what surrounded it, suggested where things could be seen and enjoyed, local transportation and other useful tid bits of information. Room was warmly set up with area type motiff for the turn of the century. It was especially nice to have tea, coffee and etc available throughout the day. Transportation was very close. Nice neighborhood. Our experience was one of allot for the money. Will recommend to friends.

Cute and Quaint Inn
The Bertram Inn was a quaint, homey place to stay near Harvard Medical School and the surrounding hospitals. I had an interview for HMS and I would recommend it to anyone who was visiting HMS or the hospitals. It is down the block from the T Green line, which is convenient since Boston is a city of no parking (even worse than NYC). The parking is $15/night at the inn and there is no overnight street parking. The inside of the inn is very cozy and there are snack foods out 24/7. The rooms, although not as nice/big as they seem on their website, are very clean and well decorated. I stayed in room 9. The bathroom was very clean and had more toiletries available than the typical hotel, including cotton swabs, cotton balls, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, makeup remover, and a shoe glove. The shower only fit one person and there was no bathtub. The bed seemed to be full size, not a queen. Overall, I was pleased with the accommodations.
