It's a good place, nice people
It's a good place, nice people there, it would not take much time to the center city by T(subway). Totally speaking, it works well!

Strange but cheap
It's very old and a little bit weird since when I checked in (at 11pm) nobody was there and checking out (7am) I didn't see anybody working there either. I didn't sleep well since there were noises during the whole night

Good location
Had a room upstairs. Lots of steps. Room was cozy. Bathroom outside, which was for exclusive use for my room but other people were using it. Front desk, cheerful and helpful except one person who was not friendly.

charming but..
While it is very charming staying at a brownstone, which indicidentally is located in a very nice area, we were a little dismayed that our parking reservation was lost so we had to make alternative arrangements which the 'Beacon' was very accomodating for and that the large flatscreen TV did not work for our entire stay. Not easy when traveling with a child. [...]

Great Experience
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We got into the area very early and were able to check in to our room early. There was plenty of space in the room!! For a small place they had a nice selection for breakfast. It was an easy 10 minute walk to Fenway Park and a quick T ride to other Boston locations. Great price, great location, great place to stay if visiting the Boston area!

Stay away
We got to the hotel at around 7pm. There was no desk staff, but the doors were unlocked. We went in and took another 10-15 minutes until someone showed up to check us in. Then they didn't have a listing of my reservation. The room we got was nice but the TV didn't work and it was right next to the Green line so it was loud and obnoxious till late.[...]We ended up taking our dog after we asked them. They agreed as long as it wasn't a big dog and it didn't bark.As far as amenities etc, the TV didnt work and there was a holster for a hair dryer in the bathroom, but no dryer. The desk staff was nowhere to be found. . .If you're looking to save money, don't come here. You'll end up paying for it in the end. Thought we'd get a nice place and take a shuttle to Logan in the morning, but they don't have a shuttle, so with the price of the cab, it's just as much as staying in a much nicer hotel with a shuttle.

Great place, nice area
The hotel is nice - the location is quite central, and the neighborhood is beautiful. They are located just across the tram stop that is a part of a Boston subway system. The staff was nice, and I really like the fact that it felt more like a pension than a hotel. Overall, it's a great place to stay at!

Nice place to spend a night
Easy location to access the T. Parking a car is a real issue. Don't drive unless you have no other choice.
