Great location and value

this hotel is older And decor very retro but the room was spotlessly clean and the staff really helpful. Right on subway line and close to many sights. For the price and fantastic location it couldnt be better.

shabby but not chic

They were sprucing up the halls, workmen all over the place. Now what is needed is attention to the rooms. The rooms are 1970s throwbacks with old furnishings and design. For the price they could at least give you a continental breakfast

great rate/location

Pro: Spacious clean room. Located within a couple blocks of public transit, shopping, and dining. Access via the T to anywhere in town. Easy on/off from the Mass Pike. Con: On-site parking not cheap (but alternatives are no better). Internet access not free. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for clean, no-frills hotel with easy access to any activity in the Boston area.

Great location and friendly staff!

The staff at the front desk and concierge desk were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel itself is a little older, and not fancy, but clean and in a great location. It's just half a block from the Symphony subway stop, a couple blocks from the Prudential Center and a few more from Copley Square.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you stay here and take the subway (locally known as the "T"), the green line splits into four different routes and you don't want to have to learn the hard way like we did :) Make sure you get on the correct train on the Green line when coming back. It's the Heath train.

Not a great hotel for business travel

This hotel is probably fine for students and folks on a budget, but if you're going to Boston on business, you're better off paying more at a different hotel. The internet access is spotty at best, cell phone reception on AT&T network didn't work 90% of the time and the general condition of rooms was a bit sub-par. Bathtub drain clogged, TV reception poor, etc. Spend the money and book at a bigger/better equipped hotel.

Midtown Hotel in Boston

Took my daughter for her 21st birthday. The staff was super friendly and helpful with places to go as well as how to get there. Room was comfortable and beds and pillows allowed for a goods sleep when we finally came in.

The green line is right around the corner from the hotel and can get to all the good places in Boston from there.

run down, convenient, affordable

We were in town for a few days. We got a good deal online and the location was very good. Just a hop skip and jump from the Prudential Center. We could walk everywhere. The hotel itself is really run down. There is nothing really nice about it. It's just a room with old worn out decor. For a couple of days it's ok. We had two adjoining rooms which we didn't request but we were very happy about. It worked out really well. My bathroom was not clean. I'll spare you the details but the floor of the bathroom was disgusting. I cleaned it with clorox myself. The other bathroom had a clogged drain and the hotel was very responsive in dealing with it. The heating vent, located in the ceiling, was so ridiculously loud I opted to shut it off and be cold just so I could get some sleep. It was the same in the adjoining room. Niether room had heat in the bathroom. The staff was fine. No compliants there. Basically, for the price and location, it's fine.
