A perfect place for a tourist visit to Boston
The Liberty Hotel is at the charming end of Charles Street with interesting shops and restaurants, a T stop across the street (with a CVS pharmacy), and a short walk from the Boston common and Boyleston shopping. Everything was superb. Only four stars (rather than five) for amenities since there's not a lobby shop (with soda and such - but the CVS across the street is perfect) and the gym is very small and viewless, the side chair in the slightly small room may be lovely but is too stiff to be comfortable, and the fun party weekend atmosphere in the lobby (with a fabulous Japanese babe saxophone player in the jazz group on Friday) left little messes around the lobby.

Vacation
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing. We dealt with a lady named Kate at the front desk and she was awesome!!! We were there for the fashion show on the Thursday night and because we were guests of the hotel we were able to make reservations for the Catwalk and was able to watch it all from there.

Not worth a second stay!
My boyfriend and I are frequent travelers for business and pleasure. We are both platnium members with SPG and are pretty loyal to the collection of hotels by Starwood. We booked a luxury hotel room with a city view...The word luxury is the joke! The rooms are small and poorly designed for a luxury hotel. The showers size was about 3' X 3' so very small and uncomfortable...housekeeping forgot to do our room the first day...after a full day of site seeing we got back to the hotel around 6pm...our room still not cleaned...called the front desk and they said they would have housekeeping do it within 1 hr...we left for dinner and came back 3 hours later and still NO CLEAN ROOM! This time a call to the manager on duty had housekeeping there within the 1/2 hour. Conceirge service wasn't that wonderful either...we asked for recommendations for fine dining and he suggested a place that was called the Summer Shack...it had picnic benchs??? Lobster was good but not what we asked for...??? The bellman & doormen were great best part of this Luxury Hotel! Save your money for a different Boston Hotel.

Design, ambiance and location are the strong points of the hotel. Urban setting, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Saturday night is a boisterous, lively time but our room was quiet at all times. Great place to stay in Boston for walks and dining in Beacon Hill.

Not worth the price
Check in was poor, had to wait for a room until 5 pm, My invoice slipped under my door showed $281.79 less than what I pre-paid. I was not given a refund on the overcharges, poor service and over charges will not bring me back to this hotel.

Good hotel & excellent location
As we arrived to check-in they gave us some champagne glasses. We had reservations in the Clink restaurant and it was really good food. The hotel is very close to the Charles MGH T station (just across the street!).

NIGHTMARE!
I paid for a corner room w/ king... they put me in a shoe box in a center room. Then they told me nothing else was available. A simple "oops sorry, nothing we can do". When I told them to refund my bill and that I was checking out they suddenly found a corner room w/ king. I got into the room, no kidding, it was street level where Cambridge St and Charles street enter the ramp to Storrow Drive. Every pedestrian and car that went by had full view of my room and me, and I could practically tell you the color of the eyes of the driver! If I stayed in the room I'd have to have the curtains drawn the entire time. The furniture was chipped and missing parts of its lamination (nice eh?) Bathroom had issues... I went back to the desk and requested a refund. This was shortly before 10pm. At 10pm I was fishing for another hotel. Fortunately the hotel where I normally stay was able to squeeze me in. The next day my old stand-by hotel upgraded my room and put me in a suite because they appreciated I returned to them. Liberty is nothing more than a Hilton in sheep's clothing.

Very trendy with active singles night life. Room was attractive and clean but I didn't care for guests returning to their rooms at 3am.

You get what you pay for
Speaking as someone who has stayed at this hotel in the past as well as others around Boston, I can tell you that you truly get what you pay for. This hotel may be pricey, but the service is great, the consierge is on top of things, and the decor is beautiful. They are also great when you request a late check-out.
