Centrally located and steps away from shopping, dining, and Boston Common, The Liberty Hotel sits at the foot of Beacon Hill. Guests have direct access to the Charles River Esplanade—ideal for running, biking, sailing, and kayaking in warm weather. The Liberty Bar and Alibi serve light fare and the finest spirits. Chef Joseph Margates Clink specializes in American classics using fresh local organic ingredients, and Scampo offers intriguing new Italian dishes by Chef Lydia Shire. Majestic skyline and river views can be taken in from the 298 guest rooms, including the 2,200-square-foot Presidential Suite and nine other suites. Rooms are adorned with impeccable style and bathed in natural light via floor-to-ceiling windows.

Unique and enjoyable

Fantastic location near the Charles River and park, as well as in the Beacon Hill district. A wonderously renovated hotel from a historical landmark 19th century jail, the aesthetic appeal is undeniable and it's a luxury hotel in every regard. Our only glitch occurred due to a weak battery in the room lock which prevented us from entering on two occasions without staff assistance.

One of Boston's Coolest Hotels

A former jail converted to a hotel, the Liberty Hotel has some cool spaces resulting from its historic past. But the bathrooms, amenities, and room decor are all very modern, crisp and clean. Extremely helpful and cordial front desk staff is one of the hotel's hallmarks.

Romantic Mini Vaca

The hotel is amazing. It is definitely on the costly side, but if you are looking for an all-around great place to relax with a significant other then it's well worth the money. I would not recommend the Liberty if you're there as a group of men, however, as the hotel definitely caters to the women a bit more and the bar and lounge scene are not what the typical Boston guy would want (girls are not stumbling drunk everywhere and it's super classy). For a couples retreat you CANT beat it.

"Our Stay At The Liberty!"

My husband and I stayed at the Liberty because it was centrally located. A few steps from Mass General Hospital and one block from Mass Eye where they have the best doctors. In addition to the above, Charles Street is a stone's throw away. It's like going back in time "gas lamp lights," lovely old brick homes, great shops and wonderful restaurants. We loved the hotel and all the special attention that we were given. Would we do it again ... you betya!

Went out of our way for this disappointing stay

This hotel has degraded in the past few years. From poor customer service, to scratchy towels, cheap robes & bed linens- the stay has been an absolute disaster. The staff made it worse by making me feel discriminated against as an orbtz customer. Very upset about the entire experience.

Fantastic!

No complaints - everything was great. Great location, within walking distance of parks, shopping, water, site seeing, and the subway terminal is directly across the street, making getting around the city very easy & convenient. The history of the building is very interesting as well. Great time - highly recommend.
