Great Christmas experience
Being away from home over Christmas isn't fun but our stay at the Eliot made up for that. The room (a suite) was lovely and the staff were very helpful and cheerful. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room and the room was a little cold, but overall the experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend the hotel for those who don't like the big hotel ambience.

Great place!
Lived in Boston for 5 years - this was perfectly central to EVERYTHING! Easy to get to Newbury, Pru, shopping, the T, Kenmore Square/Fenway. Valet was great and didn't think of car the whole weekend.

Great Boutique Hotel
Great hotel close to Park. Super friendly staff with all the amenities. Very quite, comfortable and easy to access. We were there to see the Dropkick Murphy's play three shows over St. Patrick's day. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do, Fenway Park, all the pubs and lobster restaurants. The only thing we found frustrating is, to get ice for the room, you had to call the front desk, and there was only a refrigerator for the honor bar, a separate refrigerator would have been nice.

Outstanding Hotel... Best Value!
This is a boutique type of hotel with a suite set-up (pun intended). This is a very romantic place, with a more traditional motif. The rooms are large, the bedroom is behind French doors and the bathroom is all marble. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Clio is inside the hotel - and I think it's the best restaurant in Boston - they never disappoint! Location is outstanding! I recommmend highly.

A pleaseant hotel
We went to visit our son who goes to school in the area. It was a very pleasant, older hotel. The customer service in the hotel great. I thought we had poor service from the staff in the hotel restaurant and bar. Very nice size room but the bathroom small. Very good location.

OK, but not wonderful
The hotel was very conveniently situated near shopping & transportation, and the area was upscale. The people at the front desk were very nice. The suite, on the 3rd floor, was much smaller than expected. We initially had another suite and that was also not cleaned well and smelled of cigarette smoke (in this non-smoking hotel), so we were moved to a different one, which was better but still had some minor cleanliness issues. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were fresh.

mixed experience
Okay stay, though a bit ragged in some respects. Bathroom not as clean as it could have been (tub and toilet both), despite a lot of nice marble. Why no full length mirror in the room? Waiter at breakfast at horrific body odor that could stop a clock. How could management overlook this?

Set on beautiful Commonwealth
Set on beautiful Commonwealth Avenue, this hotel certainly is in a great location. It is one block away from shops and restaurants which are set in Victorian townhouses on a tree-lined street. The subway is also only a block from the hotel and the Charles River about 2 blocks away.
