great vibe, good for 1 night

I've stayed at The Boxer twice now and had the same room both times. Super small but really quite perfect for one person for one night. The bed was comfortable and the shower was large. I've seen photos of the larger rooms and hope to get one of those when I return. Bar and restaurant have a great vibe and the food was pretty good.

Weekend Getaway

We found the hotel bright and clean, both the common areas and the room. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The bar, however, left a lot to be desired. Although the bartender told us that he had a full bar, there was no Coors Light and our party of 4 ran him out of the 8 Bud Lights that he had (all by 8 pm on a Saturday night!). Being cold and blustery outside, we had wanted to just stay at the hotel bar, however, we ended up walking to the package store around the block to buy beer. Upon returning (a half hour later), we asked if the bar had been restocked like the bartender had promised, no dice. Instead, we took our beer to the room and hibernated by ourselves. In reading some of the reviews, it appears that this is an ongoing issue. Lost revenue...

great location

Not knowing boston at all we came to relize the hotel is about a 5 min walk to a major subway station witch took us every where we wanted to go. Also we were 10 min walk from quincy market witch was unexpected and great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was a little too firm but was still comfortable. Parking ended up being a bit expensive (120 for 3 nights total). The hotel restuant and bar was a weak point. Only 4 beers in stock with sub par food.

Bad Experience

We booked our room 2 months ago and we arrived 5 minutes after check-in began. They put is in the smallest room in the hotel. There wasn't even enough room on one side of the bed to get out. It was shoved up against the windows. Smallest room I have ever been in. The next day we got back from sight seeing at 5 pm and our room had still not been cleaned. Poor management by hotel staff.

The Boxer

Great location, Very clean and accomodating. Bed was comfortable. Only criticism is there is no mirror for a woman to put on her eyemakeup. The mirror over the sink and desk were too far for me to see without my glasses and you cannot exactly put on eyemakeup with your glasses on. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Clean, cool, trendy but not in your face trendy!

Perfect for my one night stay- comfy bed, warm and inviting decor and materials used in the renovated space. Felt like I was staying in a good friends' extra bedroom as opposed to a stuffy hotel.

Courteous, Clean and Convenient

Stayed here for three nights for my grad school graduation. The hotel was recently renovated and feels very fresh and nice. The rooms are small, but this is hotel for a comfortable night's sleep or a rest during the day - not a place to lounge around in. It's near the center of the city and most train lines are within a 5-15min walk depending. I thought that it was a great value, I enjoyed the contemporary decor and found the place to be very comfortable. All of the staff were very courteous and pleasant to deal with and helped with any questions we had. I would stay again if I needed to.
