Perfect Location with Mediocre Everything Else

I have stayed here many times, and have had no complaints. However, this time was horrible. About 3:00 AM, two "ladies" came through the hall after drinking. They where loud, cursing, screaming etc. This went on for at least 15 minutes and started again around 5 AM. This was not the fault of the hotel, but when I explained the situation and asked for a late check-out, I was graciously given 30 minutes. Also, the wi-fi policy is behind the times. While it is free in the lobby, it is not in the rooms. This leads to people lounging in the lobby on laptops and tablets, sometimes in pajamas. This hotel is beautiful and a masterpiece, but walking in to a lobby full of people lounging around as if at home brings the class level down considerably. Why not offer free internet in the rooms and then people could stay there? The policies and staff need some refinement if The Park Plaza is to remain a grand hotel, otherwise the golden days are over.

Needs new carpeting.

It was fine for one night. But the stains on the carpet beside the bed were awful. It is also very noisey in the hallways in the morning. A small cup of coffee is $5.27.

Room was TOOOOOO small

Hotel bar staff was execellent. Rooms werent ready so we spent alot of money at the bar. The room was clean... But there was no view only a brick wall. The room was so tiny. The bes uncomfortable. It was meant for one person let along two. Never would stay her again.

letdown for a birthday

This hotel is in great location, but needs major renovations. You can tell at one point this was a magnificent hotel but you can clearly see its age and the rooms are not worth the cost. The staff is nice though.

One day stay

Toilet was too close to tub, tub was a plastic line tub that popped when you stood in it. Tv too far from beds, no water to purchase in rooms. Inefficient curtains, buffet style breakfast $25.00 each this was the worst part of the stay!

Good but not great

I have stayed there before and had a better visit. I booked a bigger room but they didn't have one available. The room I was in this visit had a smaller shower than the last room. Other than not getting the room I booked the visit was a great night away from home

Convenient location

Chose hotel primarily for location; room clean; bed and pillows comfortable, but heat too high and not adjustable; very thin walls and noisy neighbors but staff handled problem very quickly when called after midnight. A standard "convention" hotel acceptable for the one night we stayed.

Old hotel with not even a mini- fridge

I was rather disappointed in the hotel. The lobby is old-world ornate and gorgeous. The rooms however were dingy, old and did not measure up. The lack of even a mini fridge to get a cold bottle of water or to store a bottle of water was reminiscent of a cheap hotel or motel. The only good things were the toiletries and coffee/beverage set up.
