Avoid

Lousy hotel, ranks at par w/ Holiday Inn/Eko in Lagos, Nigeria in the 1980s. very small room, bath in particular in great need of refurbishing. In terms of $$$/quality, one of the worst I've stayed in during 40 years of travel. Maybe the one who gave it four stars either (I# got some special room; or #ii# mixed up this hotel w/ e.g. Mandarin #excellent); or ......

Boston Marathon

Booked the Park Plaza at the last minute and we were not disappointed. We arrived early, expecting our room would not be ready were pleasantly surprised when the desk clerk handed over the key-cards. Used the Concierge to help us book a tour of Boston which we throughly enjoyed. #BostonStrong

Good Morning Construction and Workers at my Window!

Ive stayed at this property before and have had "ok" service and rooms. The rooms are tired and not very clean; The location is perfect. The staff - needs customer service training and better attitudes. On top of it all, I was woken up to construction being done right outside my window on the 7th floor, with men on scaffolding. Lovely! When I called down and complained, all I got was "yes, they are working on the building." - no, I was not warned; no, I did not receive a letter letting me know; no, they did not move my room OR give me a better rate. In Fact, the "manager" at the front desk recognized me as "an O____Customer" and said that is what I get. As though O____ customers are not worth their time or effort. I was baffled and complained. ESPECIALLY since I am a returning customer. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

Not so hot but good location

The chief advantage to this place is it's about a block from Boston Common and several colleges. Also a Ben and Jerry's and Au Bon Pain right next door. [$25 for breakfast buffet???? No thanks.] Room was slightly smaller than normal, with no desk or work space, teeny not-so-clean bathroom, only one wastebasket in the whole space [none in the bathroom] and neither the bathroom fan nor the room air fan controls worked. Bedding was good and comfortable [white cotton, which is my benchmark -- no busy prints to hide the stains]. It was okay and convenient for our one night but I wouldn't stay there again.
