Boston Park Plaza is undergoing major renovations, and it needs it! This historic hotel has interesting architecture and is conveniently located to the theater district, the Commons, Beacon Hill, Newbury Street. However, it boasted several
eateries in the building, yet only one accessible from inside the hotel. (one of them not even open yet). The main entrance was not very clear (neither were the other entrances). The website boasts parking. There is a parking garage next door and costs $31.00 per night. (valet parking, $48.00 per night).
The rooms are small and have no refrigerators or microwave ovens. Some of the rooms do not have closets! Our room was very cold and when we investigated, we found that our window was open and couldn't be locked closed!
We requested a refrigerator by phone before we arrived and had to ask the front desk THREE times after we arrived (over several hours) before one was brought to our room.
The Front Desk Staff were very friendly and the concierge friendly and helpful.
Hotel is under major renovation. Lobby is a shell. Dark and scary.
No room service and coffee was a block away. Rooms are out dated and small.
Place is old and shabby. Location a plus. Don't book this before summer.
My family enjoyed staying here for a wedding. Customer service was attentive. Construction in lobby was a little unsightly. rooms were clean and in good condition for an older hotel. Good overall value for Boston and the location.
We were on a tight schedule when we checked in and had to get straight to our room and back out again. When leaving we discovered that outrroom door wouldn't lock. We called the front desk and were told someone would be there. 10 minutes later we
called again and stressed we had to leave. It was another 5 minutes before someone came. Then we waited 15 for then to switch our room. We were moved from a large king suite to a tiny corner room with no savings on price for the changes to our room or for our hassle. Hotel itself is not bad but the staff is horrible and needs some customer service training.
Right in the heart if downtown Boston - a short walk to all of my business meetings. This hotel is about a quarter of the price of the other hotels in this area, but you would not know it! Very nice hotel, great restaurant inside too. A basic,
clean hotel - I have stayed here my last 3 Boston trips and will be back.
