Great holiday
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 15 yrs, and rarely had a bad experience. It had been refurbished since I last visited and its even nicer now, looks very classy and modern, while still premium. This time we stayed in the Towers, which had the breakfast, etc, available in the Lounge, and it was fantastic. The bedroom was big and comfy, great bathroom and the Lounge service was superb. I was a little nervous having previously read a review saying how bad the food was, but this was absolutely NOT the case. It was all fresh, lovely and was refreshed as soon as it ran out, and I attended at different times of service each day. The bar in the hotel was also fantastic - great cocktails and nice food. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Got a great deal on a landmark hotel
I spent very little time in the room but it was very clean and comfortable and is a great Boston landmark in a perfect location. The fact that I got a really good rate didn't hurt.

Good overall experience
The staff were helpful and friendly. The location is great. They did not have the double/double room that I reserved, so we were given two side-by-side rooms instead. It wasn't ideal, but it was fair compensation. We had some trouble with the thermostat in one of the rooms, and it got extremely warm overnight. That, and the walls were pretty thin. We could hear a lot. Otherwise, a good overall experience. Helpful front desk, friendly bar/restaurant staff. Oh, and the attached McCormick and Schmick's and The Melting Pot are a nice bonus.

my stay in Boston
I enjoyed staying at this historic hotel and enjoyed the over all experience very much. However the only complaint i have is the way the room was setup where the tv was not opposite the foot of the bed and was instead permanently stationed to the right of the bed so as a result the position of watching the TV with my head turned to the right was ridiculous and totally uncomfortable. Other than that the room as comfortable and enjoyable and clean. Staff was great and just being in an historic hotel was quite nice.

Mr. Feelings
Great location, seemingly luxurious, but...
I felt lucky to pay only $130 for a single night at this hotel given its location. I was basically looking for anything close to Back Bay since I had to catch an early train, but got the added benefit of being close to the red line too. The lobby looked like something out of the '40s: very swanky with huge chandeliers and businessmen in small groups drinking bourbon. The room was nice enough, but a little odd in that it was small yet had two tiny full baths, both with tubs. Given all the glitz, and despite the price I paid, I was shocked to discover that wifi access would cost me $12.50 (per device!). I declined in protest; in this day and age internet is a more cherished (and expected) amenity than towel service. Would still recommend the place I suppose. Just add twelve dollars to your expected cost.

Good overall experience
Really nice hotel, great location. Wish room service had been available 24/7, and we had a little trouble with the thermostats in our rooms, but otherwise it was a good experience. When we arrived, they didn't have the double/double room that I booked, so they gave us two rooms instead. Not ideal, but it was fair compensation. The gentleman at the front desk and the bartender were great. Also, having The Melting Pot and McCormick and Schmick's attached is a great bonus. I would stay at this hotel again.
