The Back Bay was fabulous as a couple celebrating fab fifty birthday it had everything we needed. Gr8 location walked ... everywher, Boston Common brill shortcut to shops and trolley pickup, or cab outside hotel at all times. The breakfast was exceptionally good, so much so that we ate there every morning for week and still hadnt come to end of the choices- fantastic cant wait to return and wud recommend to family and particularly couples like ourselves who enjoyed a few drinks before bed in their lively bar. The waiters/staff were top class and very professional. The Boston lady concierge was so helpful and funny too, she was a mine of local information, even printed out train timetables to Salem & Rockport for us. We travel a lot and I cant fault it - only samll thing is if ur a light sleeper traffic may prevent u going off to sleep quickly- but I got used to it and it wud not prevent me rebooking again in the morning. Buy a Boston Go card- we traveled end of OCt '09 when a lot of tours/ferries on it were finished but its still gr8 value if u use it a lot as we did. Harbour cruise a must. Fenauil Hall a must see for food market - Boston Chowda & lobster 4 half nothing. Next to this Cheers pub for a drink and Aber & Fitz, American eagle alltogether for easy shopping. Walking for All
Mike Nov 2, 2009
The location allowed us to walk to most of the places that we wished to see. We believe that we get a much greater feel for a ... place by walking - even though the Boston transit system is good. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the laundry was just a BIT expensive ! Some of the decoration was beginning to show signs of wear; the desk chair rubbed against the wall, and the desk had to double as a bed-side table, which was not convenient.

Go to the top of the Prudential Building, for a cocktail at the very least. There is plenty of dining in the area, and into Newbury Street

Great Location, hospitality and price
The Beer Lover Oct 19, 2009
The Back Bay Hotel is located in the city center and very convenient for people who like to walk around the city and get on ... the T system to everywhere around Boston. The price was reasonable for the service and location of the hotel. We were able to check in to the room at 11:30 am. The room was not so big but it's nice, cozy and clean. However, the electronic equipments and the furniture were a bit old. For example, the minibar was so noisy and the hotel left it off during our stay. The desk chair was so old and beat down and it didn't go with the rest of the room. Overall, it's a sophisticated hotel and shows the city life of Boston. We would like to stay there again next time when we travel to Boston.

Lovely Hotel in the Heart of Boston
travelling Mom Sep 24, 2009
We did a mother/daughter trip to Boston to see a show, the Hotel was in a great location! The staff was personable and ... helpful without being stuffy. The rooms were lovely, especially liked the bathroom with heated towel holders. fitness facility was small, but had everything you needed. I do not recall that the website noted anything about parking, but there is a valet and the fee for overnight is on par with what you'd expect intown. We did not eat in the restaurant, but walked to a nice place just a block away. close to Newbury Street shops too. Highly recommend this place, can't wait to return!

Leopard Spandex Sep 23, 2009
This hotel is in a convienient location...super close to Newberry street for shopping or a short walk out to the north end ... for some fabulous Italian cuisine and pastries. The lobby has beautiful works of art to enjoy. The room itself was wonderful, spacious and felt like a home away from home. Actually...better than home! All of the staff- front desk, door men, house-keepers ect...couldnt have been more helpful and friendly. I ordered room service at 2AM and it was delivered by a cheerful waiter...even at 2AM! The 24 hr business cntr was a life saver. The room was beautiful, housekeeping kept it immaculate and well stocked with water, extra towels and Korres bathroom products(I also loved the bathrobes). My only dislike is that you could hear almost every thing that went on in the hallway...neighbors coming and going ect...and that the garbage trucks seem very loud at about 8 AM. Its definitely not a sound proof hotel. I loved my stay at the Back Bay and look forward to visiting all of the other Doyle Collection Hotels!

Charming Traveler Sep 21, 2009
This was our semi-annual girls trip and we had a wonderful time in Boston. We try and go somewhere different each time. The ... Hotel was only 3 blocks from the T Station, which made it easier to get around (great public transportation is a must for us). The Starbucks coffee was great and very reasonably priced. The lobby has a very relaxing area to just sit and talk. The beds are comfortable and the bathrobes awesome. The only down fall is if you go to the bar and want to chat with your friends, it is way to loud (I think the voices bounce off the ceiling or everybody is just yelling). However, I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone going to Boston. We had a great time!

This hotel had the perfect location for both ... as it is within easy walking distance of the Theatre District, the Common, and Copley Square.
