Great Hotel to stay at in Boston.
Great Hotel to stay at in Boston. Good location close to Backbay station & withing walking distance to restaurants, Boston Common & the Freedom Trail, great facilities, excellent rooms. Downstairs bar is good with a nice outdoor area to enjoy a few beers (in summer). Buffet breakfast is also great - $20USD but thats about standard (Just eat as much as you can to get your$$$ worth). Would stay here again & definatley Recommend

Quiet Hotel in a Busy Part of Town
We found the Back Bay to be the perfect location, just a block or so from two different T stops (on the Green and Orange lines), making it easy to get around the city. Although not right on busy Copley Square, it's not far away, and there are lots of dining and shopping options within a 5 or 10 minute walk. We loved too the fact that this was built as the headquarters for the Boston Police Department, adding a layer of historical interest. Without our even saying anything, the front desk clerk immediately intuited our need for a quiet room, and booked us into one where we could not hear the street or the elevator. The concierge desk was extremely helpful, and we enjoyed interacting with the staff in the coffee bar just off the main lobby. The elevators have the most unusual decor I've ever seen in an elevator, not unlike a disco.

Get week pass for the T, easy to use once you get the hang of some of the cross over lines. A week pass is $15, and can get you to any part of the city. To the airport, water, attractions - anywhere. Cuts back on taxi costs, and when you get tired of walking, or did a bit too much shopping, easy to hop on anywhere to get back to your hotel.

Great Location and Service
The Back Bay Hotel is located in a great spot in Downtown Boston. It is only a few minutes walk from the T Station (the subway) and just a couple of blocks away from Newbury St. (all the nice shops in Boston). The staff there is super friendly and they always treated the guests with respect. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit downtown Boston.

Great Stay
Great location with a short walk to any form of public transportation, from the subway system to the trolley tours. Also within very reasonable walking distance of Fenway, Cheers, the Theater District and many other attractions. My dad is 65 and he had no trouble walking around due to the great location of the hotel. The service was very helpful with any questions we had. Rooms were clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again if I ever make my way out to Boston again.

Excellent
We loved Boston and all there is to do and see. Our only issue was that we were not near the majority of the things we wanted to do. The Back Bay area seems more upscale, business-like. That's not a bad thing, just that most touristy stuff was not in that area. The North End, waterfront area is stunning. We highly recommend taking some of the cruises offered in the harbour area. We even took a ferry ride up to Salem for an afternoon, which was wonderful. We also did a two day, hop on-off trolley ride. That was our biggest disappointment. The trolley drivers/guides did not seem too informative. Of the three different ones we encountered, we only considered one as good. Plus the company itself doesn't tell you what time the last pick up is, so be aware of that. At 4:35pm we flagged down a driver of an empty trolley and were told they stop picking up at 5:00pm (?); he didn't let us on. The duck boat tours looked like they were having fun, but cannot speak from experience. Everything is expensive, but is all worth it!!

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
If you are with kids (we traveled with our 14 year old daughter), I would recommend staying near the north end or harbour area, maybe even Beacon Hill. The majority of what we did was in and around that area. Walking the Freedom Trail can be exhausting (depending on your physical fitness), but it is all worth it.

Excellent stay
This hotel is amazing! It is absolutely lovely. Spacious rooms that are nicely decorated, with lovely touches like Kiehl's toiletries, complimentary water bottles, robes/slippers, umbrella for daily use, chocolates on your pillow etc. It is pricey, but well worth it!The check-in staff and other staff are all helpful and friendly. We didn't get a chance to talk to the conceirge, but she looked to be helpful as well.[...]
