Cool place in the heat wave

We were in Boston for a family vacation with our adult kids. We were treated so well, we started to think that we had VIP on our foreheads. What we thought might have been a problem (no hot water one morning) turned in to an experience in what the best hotels can offer. Prompt attention to the problem (less than 5 minutes) and a workable solution offered (use of an empty room's bath and shower or moving into another room) and great follow-up by the hotel staff, (a fruit and water tray sent up 15 minutes after our return to the hotel) and a note from head of the hotel maintenance apologizing. The staff, without exception, treated us like honored guests the entire time. There are 2 T-stations close to the hotel, and when we checked in, [...] at reception spent at least 20 minutes showing us the best places to go. What a wonderful experience in the middle of the heat wave! Oh, and the hotel provided 2 complimentary bottles of water everyday for us to use as we walked/toured around Boston. Thanks again for a great time.

If you are in Boston for 4 or 5 days, get the week pass on the T. It's good for the whole time you are there and will end up costing less than individual fares. I believe it is also good on the buses.

Such a Wonderful Surprise!

I was afraid, based on the reasonable price, that the hotel might be a dump. Much to my delight, it was beautiful! The room was spacious and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and loaded with pillows. I found the location very convenient for my purposes; very close to the Orange line T and a short walk to the Green line. Staff was polite and professional. I will definitely stay again any time I travel to Boston.

Boston's Back Bay

I liked the interior and exterior of the hotel. The room was small but the beds were very comfortable. The room service is not the best for the price. There is pizza shop on Newbury street that is good and inexpensive! The staff is very friendly they let us check in at 10 AM!!

The alcohol laws are very strict. They don't sell any alochol after 10:30 PM also before 11:00AM. This is definetly not a party city, If you want to party go somewhere else.

Excellent Stay

We used the hotel primarily for its location to different attractions in Boston. The fact that this hotel was as good as it was came as an added bonus. The front desk staff, concierge, and bartenders at Cuffs (the onsite bar) were all great. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The decor in the hotel was excellent. We were never in the room that long because we did a lot of walking around the city, but when we were at the hotel it was great. You would easily be able to stay on an extended vacation at this location and not feel cramped in the rooms or the location.

Outstanding service and atmosphere

What a great place for our first trip to Boston. The hotel was lovely...interesting and beautiful. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. Great places for the over 40 couple in the neighborhood include... The Oak Room at the Clarendon for drinks... Skipjacks for dinner was outstanding... great food... wonderful service. The staff at the hotel was incredibly helpful. I would recommend this hotel without reservation. I hope we can visit again sometime. I do recommend taking the upgraded room for any extended stay. We didn't but think it was necessary but in retrospect it would have been a good idea.

The staff recommended the Trolley Tour which was a great idea for newbies to Boston. It was transportation and a tour rolled into one... plus, the Trolley passes are good for two days and include a Harbor Cruise. You can get the tickets from the concierge but can buy them online and print them in advance for a decent savings. Don't go to Grill 23 for a drink... they cost about $15 each!!!! Do get a table at the Top of the Hub...even though it costs $24 in drinks (or food) per person. It includes a beautiful view and great jazz. After you are there awhile at the bar... you'll go in for a table and they won't let you include your bar tab in the minimum.

Amazing Hotel

This hotel is absolutely amazing! It is in a great location, only 3 blocks from Boston Common. The rooms are a good size, I had a room with 2 double beds. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom and shower are amazing! There is even a towel warmer in the bathroom and robes! There is flat screen tv in the room and they have free wifi also, although I had problems connecting to it sometimes. I had a street facing room and it was very quiet. I never heard any noise from outside or the hallway. Staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Also, the hotel lobby smells amazing, like gardenias. There is a hotel bar/restaurant although I didn't use it and they also have room service. It is within walking distance, about 3 minutes, to the T (Boston's subway). Only 3 blocks to one of the stops. Only a short trip to Fenway, about 10-15 minutes total walking to T stop and riding the subway to the ballpark and about 20-25 minutes on train and foot to Boston Brewery. There are lots of shops and eateries nearby if you don't want to go downtown. Great place to stay for business, pleasure, for singles or families. Highly recommended!

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Go to dinner in Little Italy, which is in the North End. You can either walk there, which takes about 15 minutes or take the T (Boston's subway) which is only 3 blocks from the hotel. Definitely stop and get a cannoli at Mike's Pastry on Hanover Street in Little Italy. There's a long line around dinner time but it's much worth the wait!

Fantastic hotel

Hotel was in a great location. Was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent and the beds very comfy. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Only downside was the buffet breakfast. I didn't think it was good value for money and there was not much choice.
