Good for an urban hotel

Not a ton of amenities, and a somewhat out of the way location, but close to the North Station T stop and from there the rest of Boston. Rooms are pretty small, but not surprising for a downtown hotel. Still had space at reasonable rates less than two weeks before Anime Boston, when many hotels were pushing up their rates, although it isn't particularly close to the Hynes convention center (although it's on the same T line, which is a flat rate regardless of distance traveled).

Great location

Very close to airport and Cambridge. On a back street where there are a few bars ... so request a room in the back. Bathroom needs more hooks for towels once used: there was only one. Nice robes and bath products. Rooms ending in 1 and 2 are very close so ask for something over #5 that is also away from the elevators. Why are doors in hotels never soundproof? We cold hear people in the hall easily but that's probably all hotels. Great staff!! and Really good organic free coffee in the lobby every morning. The room service food was not good and, as usual, very expensive. Then they add 18% gratuity on that. Luckily there is an Au Bon Pain across the street but only open weekdays.

Onyx Boston

This is a cozy hotel just off the main thoroughfares near Faneuil Hall, Government Center, and the North End. There is a T stop (subway) right around the corner, so you can get anywhere in Boston easily. The hotel bar was cozy and offered good wines. (We did not eat there, so I cannot comment on the food.) The room was clean and modern. Small by some standards, but a very good size room for Boston. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Boston.

Perfect location

Traveling on business with my spouse, the Onyx was a great location for the short walk to the financial district. We also enjoyed shopping at the nearby Faneuil Hall and dinner at the Union Oyster House. The room was small but comfortable and the shower was hot with plenty of pressure. I would recommend the Onyx Hotel to others. You can even relax before dinner with a glass of wine (or two) which is complimentary. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Beautiful and close to everything!

The hotel is wonderful and close to everywhere you could possibly want to go in Boston! We were specifically in town for a Boston Celtic's game and the Gardens were less than a block away. It was also very close to great restaurants, pubs, shopping, and other attractions. The only reason that I wouldn't give the hotel four stars is because the rooms were very small (but beautiful!).

In downtown Boston, convenient location, close to T, eateries around.

We needed a place to stay while attending a graduation in Cambridge, and though the Onyx is in Boston, we got there quickly by taxi ($20) from the airport, were close to the T's Green Line and steps away from Boston's historic quarters, all around. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, the room was snug but very comfortable and quiet.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

We were not prepared for the overnight parking fee of $42. If I was to stay at this hotel again I think it would have been worth trying to find another place to park overnight. Also there is a great little bar next door to the hotel called Porters. I would reccomnd trying their twice cooked fries, they made for a delicious appetizer.

Onyx hotel good choice

I was going to Boston for a medical meeting - great accomodation for my pet, and my spouse also was able to walk to all major points of interest as it was located in the heart of everything. Service was great. Gym is small with no work out equipment except dumbells, but good cardio equipment.
