Dining tip, In Hotel

Besides excellent dining choices in our hotel, there were wonderful restaurants everywhere. If you are a lover of classical music (or even if you're not), we recommend going to hear the Boston Symphony perform at Boston Symphony Hall. It was our primary reason for flying cross country--from Califonia--to visit Boston. And it was more than worth it.

beautiful, historic and great location

Brednenda Nov 18, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

This beautiful historic hotel exceeded our expectations for character, charm, location, excellence in dining, wait-staff and ... hotel personnel. Our room, although small, was meticulously appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could have had an exhaust fan, but was otherwise quite sufficient. Bonus: we got to see Speaker Nancy Pelosi walk through the lobby. We would definitely stay there again!

I greatly enjoyed this hotel! The staff was attentitive and helpful. My only complaint, which isn't horrible, was that the ... rooms were on the small side. More than anything else, it was the size of the bathroom that was frustrating. No counter space! But it was an elegant hotel, very clean and upscale. I imagine that it was small because of the age of the hotel.

Home Away From Home-Great Location!

Susie Sep 17, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We arrived weary from the coast to coast flight and were greeted with a cheery, efficient check in. We were allowed to check ... in early since our room was ready. The hotel's great central location made it easy for friends to join us at a local restaurant (2 blocks away)for a great meal.(Public transportation & public parking garage is ~2 blocks away). We really appreciated the very comfortable bed and comforter. You feel like you are at home, only being pampered a bit! We are very particular about the importance of having a good bed so you can rest, and at the Omni Parker you can always be assured that will be. This is our 4th stay here - the last time was 2 years ago. They have added a business center to print your boarding pass, & have an exercise area downstairs. They continue to give 1st class service at a good value for the price. We'll be back next year!

Dining tip, Short Drive

Union Oyster House.

--Frankie, McAllen, TX Nov 16, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Got to hit the classics -- Durgin Park and Ye Olde Oyster House. But avoid Cheers at Quincy Market -- service lousy and not worth the money.

--Wayne, Long Beach, CA Nov 15, 2009

Money savers tip, Short Walk

Boston public transpotation is excellent! The 'Old Town Trolley Tour' is a great way to start your visit.

Money savers tip

Park at Alewife T station in Cambridge then take the T to Park st. You will save a ton on parking. Time wise it might even be faster.

The Freedom Trail is worth the walk. Boston is full of history. A lovely place to visit.

--Kate, NYC Oct 25, 2009

--Emmmers, San Francisco, CA Sep 24, 2009

Money savers tip, Short Walk

--john sox fan, chicago il. Sep 10, 2009

Money savers tip

Note: If one par-takes in the local activities (ie. DUK Tour) ensure that you get you parking validated otherwise one will have to pay $35.00 for 2 hours of parking versus $8.00. This applies almost eveywhere.

--MJC, Sugarland TEXAS Sep 4, 2009

Recreation/Attractions tip, Short Walk

The Freedom Trail goes right by the hotel, across School Street.

--CalKen, Southern California Sep 2, 2009

Dining tip, Long Walk

Walk down the freedom trail from the front of the Hotel, then for cheaper food check out Quincy Market, or for GREAT Italian food go into the North End down Hanover Street.

--Dave M, Holyoke, MA Aug 29, 2009

Money savers tip, Short Walk

The T (MBTA) subway system is very close by and a definite $$$$ saver to get you around town.

--CJ, Elizabethtown, KY Aug 23, 2009

There is a sidewalk cafe near the back of the hotel that was very good.

--Tarheel fan, Chapel Hill, NC Aug 23, 2009

--Travelbug, Chicago, Il Aug 20, 2009
