The Omni Parker House, constructed in 1927, is one of the Historic Hotels of America. The original Parker House Hotel was established in 1855, and the modern venue maintains the Parker House commitment to luxury. At Parker's Restaurant, sample Baked Boston Schrod (cracker crumbs, jasmine rice, white wine and lemon beurre blanc), Boston Cream Pie, or the Parker House Roll for an authentic taste of the very city where these dishes were concocted. Guests seeking a nightcap should try one of The Last Hurrah's golden Bostonian whiskeys for a warming end to a day of exploration; look closely at the walls, and the faces of politicians, senators and congressmen will beam down at you as you sip. Accommodations range from the Economy Petite Single to the family Freedom Trail Suite, where cozy bean bags, activity tables, and children's costumes make for an entertaining stay.

Very nice!

Great location near Boston Common, Boston Public Garden, Freedom Trail, and Beacon Hill. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Room was nice and clean. The room was not very big and the layout a bit odd, but considering I was in the room to sleep, shower and change my clothes, it was not a problem. I would definitely stay at this hotel should I return to Boston.

Get a Go Boston pass! For one price it gets you into all the big attractions and a 2-day pass on the Beantown Trolley. The card more than paid for itself and made getting into museums easy.

Great hotel, great location

Our stay at the Omni Parker House was wonderful. The staff member we encountered were all helpful, and in some cases went above and beyond, particularly the concierge. The location absolutely cannot be beat. The rooms were very nice; they were a little small, but that's to be expected with older hotels.

Location, location, location!!!

We took the blue line subway from the airport to Government Center Station. The Omni Parker House is just a short walking distance away. Check-in was easy. The hotel could not have been any more convenient to shopping and dining and it is right on the Freedom Trail. One of the highlights of our trip was taking the ferry to Salem. One of the best places to grab a quick lunch is at Sam LaGrassa's which is just a block over from the hotel. We had a reuben and a roast beef. These were the biggest and best sandwiches we have ever had anywhere!!!! We also ate dinner at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood. We liked it so much that we ate there twice in four days. The only thing that we found lacking in Boston was a good place to eat breakfast.

Convenience to a historic city

The Omni Parker far exceeded my expectations. Although the rooms were smaller than most places I have stayed, it would not influence my recommendation to others to stay there, and the comfort of the beds and cleanliness of the room were superb. The location could not have been better for us - right on the Freedom Trail. And if you go, be sure to try the Boston Cream Pie at the hotel - a unique experience.

Ye Olde Oyster House for seafood - ask for booth #18 when making reservations (if you want to sit where Pres. Kennedy did), Durgin Park - typical home cooked New England dishes where you have fun with the rude waiters, and for Italian - Piccola Venezia followed by a trip to Mike's Pastry shop - worth the lines!

Boston Trip

Front desk staff was very pleasant and friendly. Concierge was no help, and every time we called we were placed on hold for long periods of time. When we asked for a suggested restaurant we were given half answer with a general direction location. The map given to us by the front desk clerk was more help. Room service food was absolutely terrible. Room service is always expensive, but this was so bad the next night we got in really late, we walked to the 7-11 for a sandwich.

Freedom in Boston!

We came in for the Boston Marathon. Concierges [...] were outstanding. Stayed 5 nights. Location was outstanding for walking to all marathon activities and for access to "Freedom Trail" attractions. Just a 15 minute walk to the harbour or the "North End". Subway was a block away from the front dooor. We used the subway to visit Cambridge (eat at Mr. Bartley's Gourmet Hamburgers) and Fenway Park. We walked to "Breeds Hill" or aka Bunker Hill in 20 minutes. Cheers was a 5 minute walk. Make sure you find Mike's Pastries in the North End. Boston Commons is just 2 blocks away, and Boyleston Avenue and Newbury Avenue (shopping) are about a 10 minute walk. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

If you are coming in from out of town use the concierge to get you some baseball tickets using Ace Tickets. All basebal fans should visit Fenway Park one time. Use the "T" to get to the game. Takes about 10 minutes to get there from the Omni Parker House.

Luxurious base for Boston stay

The Omni Parker House hotel's opulent lobby is arranged into many intimate seating areas, so the effect is one of lavish coziness. As of our April 2009 stay, wireless internet was only available in the lobby and not in the guest rooms, so I spent more time there than I might have ordinarily. The concierge was exceptionally helpful in locating television coverage of a basketball game my son was interested in. On another day, our noisy neighbor problem was handled efficiently and with good grace.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The City Carpet mosaic that marks the site of the first public school in America is right outside on Tremont Street side of the hotel. It appears a little dilapidated and is sadly unprotected from foot traffic, but you can make out the names of many of Boston Latin's School's most famous alumni, such as Samuel Adams and John Hancock.

Great location at a reasonable price

We were visiting colleges but had time to take in the historic Freedcom Trail walk and the nearby shopping. The hotel is centrally located near Boston Commons, the T Line and Quicy Market, and the aquarium. The Omni Parker House Hotel was a beautiful historic hotel with formal dining service. The Hotel concierge was extremely helpful.
